I have 'em in three colors--they're comfy and make me feel tall. (via Nordstrom's)

Short Sleeve Shirt Dress

Description
Wearing a dress is just as easy as wearing jeans. Besides that whole "shave your legs" thing. Dresses are going to be my new fall wardrobe staple and this one is cute as a button. I like the vintage-inspired style and cheerful color. I always fancied myself a Rosie The Riveter type.
It is a good thing I got a part-time writing gig.

This is adorable. And they sell it here. In URBANA. There is a God. It isn't even that expensive. When I saw the boutique last week I was certain the prices would be outrageous. But this is a very reasonable $34 AND it will hide my baby roll. Yipee! You who do not live in this fine town can order it online.

Corduroy Skirt

Description
The godets are flattering to this post-baby body and the cordory has a really thin wale so it is super-soft.
I pair it with a funky graphic T and my chucks. Or some cute plaid ballet flats.

Illinois T-Shirt

Description
What can I say? I'm working hard to get into this whole midwest-grad-school thing, and really, how can I argue with an adventure that includes logo tees? My husband is a doctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and this is what all the kids are wearing ... in fact, it is what the whole town seems to be wearing.
Go, Illini! If only I didn't hate college basketball so much ...

J. Crew Sunwashed Cotten Skirt

A nice alternative to jeans, it feels like you're wearing your favorite yoga pants. I live in this skirt, with flip-flops, my Chuck Taylors or sweet little ballet flats. It also works great as a beach cover-up.

Not only is ths totally hilarious, it is, sadly, so totally true. My kid is on day three of no naps and I just might have to kill myself. Thank God I still have my sense of humor. (via Suburban Turmoil)

Description
Having a baby changes you ... specifically, your rear end. These jeans are my fave since my post-partum days. Low, but not too low. Dark wash? So slimming! And the boot-cut balances out those child-bearing hips. I bought two pair so one would always be clean.

About 100 years ago I bought shoes like this in Boston. I still have them and I still wear them. They've seen Head Of The Charles, the Buffalo Bills and they're on their way to Urbana, IL right now. I promise you'll live in them. And I'm treating myself to a new pair. Ironic and iconic!
