What a girl geek wants - a list by hanahula

About this list:

I grew up in an era when a calculator was considered high tech, so I am simply floored by the current pace of technological change. Yet, I don't want to purchase something just because it's the latest (and supposedly greatest) new gadget. Here is what I have found to be fun, useful and/or relatively easy to use.

Qualifications:

Quite simply, I am a girl and a geek.

With 13.5 megapixels resolution for exceptional clarity; a 2.7 inch high monitor to review and revise your shots; and an overall size manageable enough to hold steady, this new Coolpix will snap gorgeous pictures whether or not you have a professional photography background. Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar

First to recommend

Description

Particularly if you are a Windows refugee, the Genius Bar may be your new home until you get comfortable with all of the glory of Max OS X 10.5 that comes pre-installed on the MacBook Air. I have yet to met a genius I didn't like and/or worship. (via Apple)

iSkin Store - tokidoki iPod skins

Your iPod is not simply any iPod, its YOUR iPod. So trick it out appropriately. Buy your iPod its own wardrobe of tokidoki skins from iSkin. They come in all shapes in sizes (nano, mini, classic), so there is really no excuse not to have your iPod looking as amazing as you. ("tokidoki" means "sometimes" in Japanese)

Nikon USA: D40 Kit

6 people recommended this item

Description

This camera takes amazing pictures. And it is a wonderful tool for both the amateur and the professional photographer. (Although if you are more on the professional end of the spectrum you might want to consider upgrading to the D40X.) Now that I own one of my own, I am no longer embarrassed to share my work with family and friends. I have even been inspired to create my own photo blog since I bought this little powerhouse.

Incipio: Silicone Keyboard Cover for Macbook Air

First to recommend

Description

One of the downsides to being able to take your MacBook Air nearly anywhere is that it will be vulnerable to spills and splatters. A silicone keyboard cover will keep you focused on your work as you toil amongst the messy masses.
