Dr. Bronner - Castile Soap Peppermint
25 people recommended this item
Description
I recently discovered this all-purpose soap at my local organic store. It's awesome. I love it that you can use it for hair, body, hands... Makes traveling a lot easier. It also contains hemp, which concerns some of my friends in terms of passing customs when traveling abroad. I don't think this bit of hemp is going to set of any alarms, but I suppose I wouldn't know...
Can be used on pets (so they claim, but I haven't tried). Organic and not tested on animals. Thumbs up.

Coat Rack Wall-Mounted
First to recommend
Description
Instead of tearing down a supporting wall, I turned the 3' eye-sore into a coat rack. Floor to ceiling wood matching the hall and kitchen. All I have to do is add some modern hooks, and the structure will look intentional. I now like this solution more than not having a structure in this space.

Rainboots Yellow

Description
This is the seventh pair I've bought in two years (yes, a little obsessive)... But I do wear these almost everyday, and they get chewed up by dogs sometimes. I'm going for the classic yellow this time. Easy to find in the yard if dogs use them as rubber toys.
I love the $19.99 price too!

Patent Vinyl Pants

I am way too old to be sporting these out at night, but dude, the fact that I ordered the exact same pair I owned 20 years ago impresses even me. Same size, same style. Didn't matter if it's in or not. I had to wear it, just because I could!

Punk Lolita

Description
I have this dress. Bought it for Burning Man. I didn't wear it too long... It was actually too tame. (I know.) But I love it. It fits super well. Has just the right amount of layer. And I love the plaid details. Reminds me so much of my punk days. (Did I tell you I had a blue mohawk once? Boy, was I ugly!)

Converse

Description
We've gone through Nike, Adidas, Puma, and now Vans. I think Converse is the next 'it' shoe. Or should I say, I 'want' it to be. I love their new fall collection, in particular the 'hard to find' items on their site. This boot comes in a lighter color (on their site), which is fabulous. You can buy with or without faux fur. But fur is the 'in' thing this fall, so of course, buy the ones with fur (But careful, try not to wear too much fur all over your body. You'll end up looking like a fur trader.)
I also love their custom design section. You can design your own shoes. I know Nike has this, but Converse is so much more fun to design.

Sluggo

Description
It started with how I almost killed my dogs. And the wild birds. And the cat across the street. I bought some 'old English formula' and literally caused a snail genocide in my yard, but seeing all the dead snails and slugs got me to re-read the label. Also kills dogs, children and wildlife.
After that, I spent days researching organic means to killing the S+S (snails and slugs). It is a very long story, and somewhat humorous, as it does involve beer, torture and chickens. (If you want to read, go to http://grenadefishing.com/random-tips/2006/6/1/snails-slugs-oh-my.html.)
Now to Sluggo, what I'm supposed to talk about. It's iron-based and non-toxic, so it doesn't harm the environment, the dogs or the wildlife. The S+S eat the stuff, are fooled into thinking they are full, crawl back to their quarters and die of starvation. I know, it sounds cruel. (Until you hear the other methods, this is pretty nice, actually.)
Seriously, Sluggo works very well. Very easy to use and messy-free. I highly recommend it.

Square Storage Box

Description
Open my garage, and you will see rows of these, all labeled with descriptions of items stored. They keep things clean, safe and organized. Plastic is tough enough to stack safely. Great for seasonal items, such as holiday paper and ribbon, and they're also great for the extras, such as serving plates and serveware.

5x8 Greek Flokati Wool Shag Rug
First to recommend
Description
I had an ivory one, which I loved. It's now "natural earth" color and belongs to the puppies. I love the feeling of shag rugs under my toes. This one is $109 (I paid lots more). If you have a large space, I recommend putting two side by side. Because it's shag, you can't tell they're two, and the super size looks amazing.
