Trek Lime Bike: Autoshifting for your pleasure
First to recommend
Description
I'm one of those bike riders who has had gears go out at the most inopportune times, mostly because I have no clue when to shift. Trust me, when you're standing on the pedals and huffing up a hill at top speed, the last thing you want is a gear malfunction that'll cause your crotch to come crashing down on that bar. Ouch.
Thankfully, the Trek Lime shifts for you automatically, making it a magic bike in my mind. Plus the seat has a little trunk storage area underneath it, giving you a place for your keys, iPod, wallet, and hair gel ... which you'll need to continue looking cool on your sweet ride. (via Gizmodo)

Voice Activated Interactive Alarm Clock
First to recommend
Description
This is probably the most dangerous clock in the world. Why? Because you can shut it off with your voice. I see legions of sleepy people, yelling and their clocks, and slumbering for years a la Rip Van Winkle.
Still, being able to yell "WHAT TIME IS IT?" from under your blanket and getting an answer is pretty useful. That alone makes me want one of these. Just be scared when you ask the clock to open the pod bay doors, and it tells you it can't do that. (via Gizmodo)

This is:
Rubber Ducky Bath Radio
First to recommend
Description
Ernie from Sesame Street sure would love this thing because it's not only a great bath buddy, but it plays tunes as well. That'd give him a chance to learn something besides "Rubber Duckie". But I have to admit, a bath toy that plays music? You're the one for me. (via Gizmodo)

This is:
Wovel
First to recommend
Description
This looks like either something that was invented in 1882, or that weird Monopoly playing piece (in the old sets), but it's actually the "Wovel," the world's safect snow shovel, and one of the "best inventions of 2006." I didn't know that attaching a giant wheel to a snow shovel would make it work better, but here's living proof that I don't know what I'm talking about that often. It actually looks like it could make all that shoveling...fun! (via Gizmodo)

Igloo Constuction Tool
First to recommend
Description
Forget the old days of building an ice fort. Get the Ice Box igloo builder, and go to town creating your own winter-wonderland. You can be king of your own Igloo-Land, or else build that mansion you've always been wanting. They're better than tents for sleeping out in the snow, and you can always make your escape by melting a wall if you need to. Just don't light a fire inside, fyi. (via Gizmodo)

List that features this:
MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoes
First to recommend
Description
Trudging around in the snow just got a whole lot easier. These suckers are high-tech and comfortable, and could just save your buns as well. I'm tossing my old snowshoes in the garbage, because they were practically made out of tennis rackets and old leather belts. I can't wait until these arrive. (via Gizmodo)

This is:
Remote Controlled Forklift
First to recommend
Description
This little remote controlled forklift can get you through the day in the office with ease. Have a stack of files that need to be delivered to the boss? Load it up! I love how the product page features it carrying a can of Red Bull. Hopefully to its lazy owner. Imagine this thing on the dinner table! "Dad, can you pass the butter?" BEEP BEEP BEEP. Done. Bassetti Sheet and Bed Sets
First to recommend

Description
I'm not really sure how these sheets work, but they pipe in actual sounds of nature to your bed while you sleep. Ever wanted to snooze near the crashing surf in the ocean? Now you can do it all without having to move and buy pricy real estate. Plus, they also promise the "perfume" and smells of nature, again making me wonder how this high-tech sleepy goodness is achieved. But, if it can drown out my noisy neighbors and send me to lullaby land, I'm all for it. (via Gizmodo)

Axis Orikaso Food Bowls
First to recommend
3 people recommended this item
Description
These little food bowls and containers from Orikaso fold up like origami, making it not only easy to carry your food around at lunchtime, but they also fold up neatly and look stylish as well. Plus, they are a hell of a lot easier to fold than those paper cranes, take it from me. (via Gizmodo)

Universal USB Sim Card Reader and Writer
First to recommend

Description
Have you ever changed cell phones, or cell service providers, and had to re-enter all of your data by hand? It's a real pain, and is enough to drive even the most anal datakeeper crazy. I can't tell you how many phone numbers I've lost this way.
However, with this handy-dandy little USB SIM card reader, you pop your SIM card out, slip it inside, plug it into your computer and, voila! You can transfer all of your data back and forth between phones with ease. Where were you three years ago, consarnit! (via Gizmodo)
