a necessary ingredient to many, many a delicious cocktails that will fool mom into thinking that there's not much alcohol in her drink. personal favorite: chocolate cake shot. (equal parts stoli and frangelico and a sugar coated lemon) you can get mom to take a few just to make sure it really tastes like cake! she'll be drunk before you know it!

oh so many tasty drinks can be made from this. hazelnut martinis come to mind (1 oz. decent vodka like kettle one to every 1/2 oz. of this) shaken, not stirred. rim the glass with cinnamon sugar for an extra holiday kick.

vodka gimlets: 2 oz kettle one, 3-4 oz schweppes tonic water and, of course roses lime juice to taste (up how much you put into it for mom). also, for this drink make sure you buy the brand names...the knock offs are just not good.

ahh the thanksgiving miracle of the jager. a few years ago my brother and i were facing a very very dire situation of a dry holiday. we wished, hoped and prayed that this would not be the case and alas the universe smiled upon us. we found a HUGE bottle of jager in a hall closet our parents must have forgotten about. it was a beautiful thing.
