Faber-Castell Graphite Pencils

Description

I've been using Faber Castell Pencil since I was a kid. My studio is cluttered with them and I always carry some around along with my journal. You can purchase these pencils in varying hardness.
B= soft lead (heavy/ dark line quality)
F= medium lead (average line quality)
H= hard lead (lighter line quality)
These letters are also accompanied by numbers (2-8) the lower the number, the lighter the lead quality)
Pick up a few and have fun.

Arches 140lb Hot Press Watercolor Paper

Description

This pad of paper is referred to as a 'block'. Its a great quality heavy stock (140 lbs) paper that I use for mixed media drawings. The 'hot press' referrs to the texture of the paper. Hot press is smoother than 'cold press'.

When I want to do LARGE drawings I pretty much always stick to arches. You can purchase large rolls of watercolor paper (various weights and textures) from NY Central, Utrechts, Dick Blick, or Pearl Paint.
