A Valentine's Bouquet that does not involve red roses

Description

I like a romantic gesture as much as the next person, but I am dead set against the cult of the red rose on Valentine's Day. Do you know how much the price goes up? And there are so many other beautiful choices around, like this bouquet which is called Chakra Glow from Seranata Flowers. Much better value, and absolutely beautiful

Valentine's Gift for a very new girlfriend

First to recommend

Description

Always a challenge, when you get together with someone you really like just before a major event. Particularly Valentine's Day. My recommendation is stay well away from the roses, and try something unique, different, interesting. I love the idea of the two of you learning to fly the trapeze, or twirling a lasoo. Red Letter Days have some great options, and think its great if you go for something you can do together. It'll certainly be a talking point and a great memory you've built together. Plus, you can rub the Deep Heat into her aching limbs at the end of the day!

Fabulous fingerprint jewellery

First to recommend

Description

I think kid's fingers and toes are a miracle, and you forget very quickly how dinky and tiny they were! So I love this Fingerprint jewellery, which comes in a variety of styles. You get sent a kit, you take an impression of your little ones fingerprint, and then send it off to be cast into silver. One of those gifts you need to be organised for, but worth doing before your little ones become big ones!

Giles Deacon Haute Couture Stationery for Smythson of London

Description

This is a great gift for the fashionista in your life, and one that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg. Okay, it's expensive for notecards, but a lot less than buying something from Giles Deacon's collection! I think it's a very clever move in this credit crunched times, although for most of us it will still be a big luxury. But label loving women will love these!

Happy heart pendant in ruby red glass by Yummi Glass

First to recommend

Description

This is being carried by one of my favourite online jewellers in the UK, Astley Clarke. I think it's a great Valentine's Day gift, as it's a contemporary and stylish take on the oldest motif for the event! And at £75 it's pretty reasonably priced. Plus Astley Clarke's gift packaging is great and will really make this look like a fabulous gift. (via ProblemPresents)

Perrier Jouet Rose Champagne - perfect Valentine's Day drinking

First to recommend

Description

Come on, Valentine's Day is just made for drinking pink champagne! Ditch the overpriced red roses and buy a fabulous bottle of pink champagne. I like Perrier Jouet, but wouldn't turn my nose up at Laurent Perrier. I'd buy it from The Purveyor, a good new addition to the British online options for quality wines and champagnes. Not to mention the interesting stuff for cocktails! (via ProblemPresents.com)

These look so stunningly beautiful, it would be a shame to eat them! Check out Biscuiteers at Not On the High Street for something similar in the UK
