About this list:
This year I'm attempting to be more environmentally conscientious about what I give and how I'll do it. These are items I feel would make great gifts that promote and encourage "green values" into our lives. Eco-friendly isn't just a fad, it's life. What could be more meaningful than gifting your family and friends with positive messages and wonderful products? Organic, recycled materials, and everything beyond - Here are my suggestions for "Gifting Green" for every-day life and the holidays.

Kökshandduk Watercress, mörkgrön - Ferm Living
First to recommend
Description
Why does Ferm Living have to make kitchen items so pretty that you almost don't want to use them? Organic cotton and a gorgeous Watercress print would make this a great gift to give or a great tea towel to use as artwork if you can't bare the idea of ruining it with use!

BARBAPAPA - Flaska av aluminium
First to recommend
Description
As plastic bottles become a thing of the past (well, present) and aluminium bottles seem to be here for good why not pass them along to your children (or the big Barbapapa) with this fun bottle? The latest dinnerware/dining set aimed for kids doesn't mean the rest of us big kids can't use them either.

Andira 'Rain Forest' Rain Tee

Description
I know it may sound a bit too much for some, but this really isn't just any ordinary t-shirt. Let's forget the design (which is absolutely fabulous) and focus on this - Not only are these 100% certified organic cotton shirts ethically made, but for each one sold a chold living in endangered rain forest land receives a tree to plant and learns about how they can protect their forests. Personally I was drawn to the modern and slightly unsual design of the shirt, but the fact that this shirt creates so much awareness makes it "fit" for everyone.

amenity cove grey + espresso hemp/organic cotton runner
First to recommend
Description
I've always loved the organic bedding from Amenity Home but lately I've been eyeing table linens for our new dining room. Our dining furniture is teak so I really appreciate the stark contrast of whites and creams that would compliment our vintage furniture. Much like the current textiles featured in our home this one includes elements of nature and is also organic. Infact, this table runner is printed by hand with non-toxic, water-based, eco-friendly inks on a premium fabric made from hemp and blended with organic cotton. I cannot wait until I can include this in our home.

Figure Pillows: Birds

Description
It might not be the most romantic typical heart-shaped Valentine's gift, but I know a certain girlfriend that would adore these if a certain boyfriend gave them to her. The set is made to order and would be a fantastic and semi-romantic gift to give to your Valentine. The shell is made of 100% organically grown cotton, applique of hemp knit, and the filling of natural feathers (90%) and down (10%), snap closure.

Solidware Sporks (Set of 4)

Description
I was thinking about buying a set of salad spoons (hands) from a popular British chefette but I now I think I'd rather have these! They're made from 100% organically-grown bamboo and produced by a company that promote fair labor practices and environmental protection. Not only do they look neat but you can also feel good about keeping them in your kitchen. The next time you entertain these would be perfect at the table! My mother-in-law's birthday is coming up and these will definitely make the list.

Description
I am just in awe of this fantastic gadget. Please please please check out this energy monitor!
"As seen on FOX News, ABC, and CNN Online, the PowerCost Monitor™ is helping thousands of people across the United States and Canada save money on their electric bill.
The PowerCost Monitor™ is a wireless energy monitor for your home. It can tell you at a glance how much electricity your home is using from moment-to-moment and in total. Why wait for your electricity bill when you can see what you are spending on electricity as you spend it!
Tests in Ontario and elsewhere have proven that householders who use real-time feedback can reduce electricity use by as much as five to 20 per cent. This is the advantage of having real-time feedback on your electricity.
Real-time feedback means real savings for you. Make the PowerCost Monitor™ a regular part of your daily household routine. " (via Blue Line Innovations)

USB CELL AA Rechargeable Batteries

Description
This is just too clever. We're all still using regular alkaline batteries (I know!) but this clever usbcell rechargeable battery just added a new twist. Simply plug these batteries into any USB port to recharge them and you're ready to go. They work just like any other batteries and are great when you're travelling - just plug them into your laptop and you're done!

Loomstate organic cotton "Make Like a Tree" Zip Hoody
First to recommend
Description
In an attempt to pull my husband out of a fashion slump and feel more confident about his wardrobe, this organic cotton hoody will likely make its way into the closet within the upcoming months. Not only is it made from 100% organic cotton the natural print on the back is eye-catching but not obtrusive. It's that unique detail that makes this hoody interesting not once but twice!

Get Hip Get Green Reusable Shopping bag
First to recommend
Description
If you don't own the hugely popular shopping bag in the same design, this is a nice alternative. This is a great partically recycled lunch bag for every day use that you don't have to feel guilty about. I've been looking at lunchbag/food storage options for my husband's work lunches and this is something I'd definitely give him. Not only does this get the message across, it's also produced fairly (fair wage fair labour) in China.
