Jean Genie - a list by nanashi

About this list:
Which celebrity has the most staying power? Why denim, of course! It's been hugging all the cool kids' bods for more than 50 years. Scientific theories state that this is because magical beings sprinkle pixie dust into the dyes of denim during the distressing process and the result is a pair of pants that magically look good on everybody. Also, it could be because jeans are so versatile, and can be used in a variety of looks. In this list, I will go for the oft-aimed for (oft-disastrous) day-to-night look.
Qualifications:
Fashionable intelligence is in my jeans. Sorry.

List that features this:
Kain | Silk-blend tank
First to recommend
Description
I love the slouchy look. I mean who doesn't? All those slouchy tanks, tees, hats and boots! It's such a universally flattering look, it's hard to go wrong. Except, of course, if some silly, silly person buys their tanks and tees in the wrong fabric, which creates the less flattering "bulky" look. I, being the generous, kind, and knowledgeable being that I am, am going to take the guess work out of slouch. Example: this Kain silk blend tank. With an off-white, you can't go wrong (no noticeable fold shadows etc.) and a silk blend will feel luxurious, but look "effortlessly chic". Which is, according to the style sections, what we're all aiming to look like. But please, please, brush your hair. The world outside of fashion isn't quite ready for that yet.

aryn k - women's buckle crop jacket w/ bow detail (black) - jackets
First to recommend
Description
I, like the rest of the fashion conscious world, have been stockpiling blazers for the last three years. Silk/wool/boyfriend/fitted, you name it, I have it. But, now that I think about it, isn't three years equivalent to about seventy years in the fashion industry? Shouldn't we be on to something else by now? Perhaps it's time for, say, boleros to come back into style. Call me crazy (it's not news to me) but I think the cropped, clean, collarless jacket perfectly complements almost every cut of shirt, especially worn open (the coat, that is, not the shirt). They're sassy, sweet, vintage, and can be worn as ironically as you please (as in, please don't wear it ironically). Maybe it isn't a menswear blazer, but, c'mon, give boleros a chance!

Faith - ABEEBE Flat
First to recommend
Description
UK brand "Faith" shoes are drop dead gorgeous- and coming from someone who owns a pair or two- dead cheap and dead comfortable. These cuties are the perfect shade of pink (hard to find), with a sweet patent bow at the heels.

COLE HAAN "VILLAGE" DOUBLE-FLAP LEATHER CROSS-BODY BAG
First to recommend
Description
A practical and sophisticated bag for work. It measures an impressive 9" x 8" x 14", making it big enough to hold all your daily necessities, plus a pair of heels for after the 9-5. I suppose you'd expect a label that's been around for more than 80 years to be getting tired. Think again.

River Island Sequin Beret
First to recommend
Description
What can I say about the sequined beret? Flashy? Undoubtedly. Stylish? I'd say. This version from River Island has a little "scrunchy" bit around the rim (which means it won't fall off of your head! No constant readjusting! Beret wearers, rejoice: o lala!). Sequined berets look sweet (if a little theatric) in the day, and double as a fantastic night hat.

This sexy pumps lace up to the ankle, ballerina style. But if you plan on dancing like one, please bring some flats.

ASOS | ASOS Feather Clutch at ASOS
First to recommend
Description
When you think feathered clutches, you think of the 1920s. Which leads thoughts to vintage, then to Salvation Army and the smell of mothballs. There is nothing at all stale about this feathered clutch. Small and sassy (and really! how much genuine sass do you see these days?) this clutch packs a punch, some bills, a credit card, lip gloss and not much else.

This is:
Oak | costalots sunglasses - oxidized chain link glasses chain
First to recommend
Description
Costalots has, over time, become one of my favourite makes of sunglasses. The designs are great, the quality is sterling, and they don't, er, cost a lot ($96 for these!). These is particular caught my eye: dull coral coloured lenses, clear frames and an honest-to-goodness old lady chain for keeping your glasses handy. That description sounds quaint, but, believe me, bad-assed non-conformist style radiates like sunbeams off these bad boys.
