ok...I'm not completely sure how this thing works, but it looks fancy, it cooks food, and I like it. I checked on wikipedia and induction cooking involves producing a magnetic field that penetrates the metal of a pan or pot and produces some serious heat.

I'm sold.

I'm not necessarily sold on the concept of portable though...since it requires plugging into an outlet, but it's close enough (via Uncrate)
