Eat Right 4 Your Type Book

First to recommend

Description

Trying to get healthy is no longer my New Year's resolution since I've vowed this every year. I am just going to try everything and see what works. I bought this book because of a recommendation from a co-worker. I began reading and noticed there may be some truth to this afterall. My blood type is O and it says alot of the foods that I eat aren't good for my type. Not to give TMI, but dairy has never agreed with me. This book points that out dairy isn't good for any O types. It also comes with recipes. The encyclopedia version is more detailed and breaks down each food. According to your blood type if it's a neutral food you can eat or to avoid it and why.

Emergen-C Health & Energy Water

28 people recommended this item

Description

I recently started working a graveyard shift, 9pm to 7am, and decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to test-drive some Emergen-C Health & Energy Water. For comparison's sake, I'll contrast it with what I usually do, which is overdosing on coffee, sugar, and the occasional Red Bull.

First off, the four flavors (Dragon Fruit, Tangerine, Lemon-Lime, and Raspberry) are great. I'm not a Gatorade fan because of the watery taste, but Emergen-C definitely doesn't have that problem.

Tangerine, as I was recently telling people, tastes like pineapple juice that lost its soul in a poker game with the devil... and still, I really enjoyed the Tangerine flavor.

The Lemon-Lime drink was good, much better than the aforementioned Gatorade version.

The Raspberry drink was so good, I briefly considered running out and buying a case of the stuff... until....

Dragon Fruit. Holy crap. Okay, maybe I'm sheltered and don't try enough new things. I'd never even heard of Dragon Fruit before... but that drink is one of my new all-time favorites. If I had to try to describe the taste, it's almost like a pomegranite with less of an acrid kick to it.

This stuff is loaded with Vitamin C, B-6, and B-12. has seven mineral complexes and healthy doses of other essential vitamins. I didn't see a massive jump in my energy level (a la Red Bull), but I did notice that I was much more focused, more able to pay attention to the tasks at hand (which is never easy at 4 in the morning).

Put it this way: If I had had 4 cups of coffee, I would have had that zippy, go-go-go-go-GO feeling for a while, and then felt strung out and tired a couple of hours later. With Emergen-C Health & Energy Water, I was calm, alert, and focused. It's some seriously amazing stuff. My only complaint is that while it's carried in Safeway stores all across the country, it's not in my local store. Grrrrr. I have to get across town to a Walmart or CVS in order to pick some up... but hey, it's worth it.

This drink is great-tasting, keeps you energized and focused, and is great for you. When I compare that to my usual routine of coffee and Red Bull, which taste good, eventually lead to a crash in energy levels, and aren't exactly healthy (sugar + caffeine), and... well.. there's no comparison at all, now that I think about it.

Emergen-C simply kicks ass.

Go to www.emergenc.com and click on "FIND SOME" to see which stores near you carry the stuff, and then go out and buy about... oh... every bottle you can find, especially the Dragon Fruit flavor. Yum.

Toiletries by LATHER

Description

I first saw this product in the hotel I was staying in while vacationing in Aruba. Not only do I love the smell of the yuzu and bergamot moisterizer, but the ingredients are natural.
Yes, guilty, I took the sample bottle of moisterizer home to remind to look for this product. Love it!

Maxitropin

First to recommend

Description

I started to use this product last year during my search for glucosamine. It really did help ease the joint pain in my knee due to me being behind a computer all day.
Also, I felt I recovered alot faster after the treadmill. I didn't feel out of breath for too long. My breathing and my heart rate returned to normal after about 5 minutes give or take. I did feel more energized as well.

The mixture is chalky and leaves an aftertaste no matter what drink you mix it with. I normally mixed acids with it. Grapefruit, orange juice, etc. I stopped for awhile because it got to be pricey, but I do intend on using the product again just not in conjunction with other "heart racing" products.

Biotin

Description

I used to think Pantene was the answer to healthy hair and vitamin E was the cure for my brittle nails.
Well I live on biotin, commonly found in soy and oatmeal.
I take these twice a week. That's all
My hair and nails constantly need to be cut, but my hair is healthy according to my stylist, whom has been with me through my days of split ends, dullness and breakage.

Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro Juice Extractor

Description

I had another brand and end of throwing it away because the grater was just too much to clean. I had to pry it out to clean it. This one is a little better, not so much work. I like that the spout is bigger so i can get more fruit in. You do have to push the fruit slowly to get more juice or it'll be a waste.

I was coaxed into buying this one, but I must say I'm happy my good friend talked me into it. She said it was a refreshing drink and it really is. You can drink it hot or cold, though I prefer hot. It tastes like lemonade with a kick.

Kiss My Face

Description

Oh man! Kiss my Face products are AWESOME. I love their liquid rock deoderant. It's way better for your pits and body than the conventional ones that are full of aluminum (which has been linked to alzheimer's). And yes, they work just as well as Secret Platinum which is what I used to use. Incidentally, I am an overweight woman, and Kiss my Face Liquid Rock deoderant keeps me from stinking all day long - it really WORKS just as well! Be kind to your body and make the switch - you won't regret it.
