Expecting Fish Mobile

First to recommend

Description

Any mobile that will last longer than the crib is worth investing in, and this Flensted "Expecting Fish" mobile is visually appealing enough for an adult environment.

Baby Mod Olivia 3-in-1 Crib

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

If you don't have a problem with WalMart, this Olivia crib is pretty cute, with an appealingly modern minimalism (earning a thumbs up from Apartment Therapy's Ohdeedoh). It's also quite inexpensive. Conversion capability for a toddler bed is a nice touch, as is the non-toxic finish.

Silibib

Description

This silicone baby bib offers a wipe-sensitive alternative the nasty plastic bib you can never quite get totally clean of baby food patina. Cool, modern styling ads a nice touch.

Baby Closet Dividers

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

It's difficult to describe to a non-parent how hard it can be to keep an infant's clothes organized. You are often storing items a year or so in advance and your kid is completely growing out of apparel every few months. These handy closet dividers help keep everything in perspective. Baby Lamb Blanket

Description

I'd never recommend taking a newborn out for Halloween, but you might be able to get away with it using this costume.

Sian Swan

First to recommend

Description

Handcrafted by Brooklyn-based designer Sian Keegan, this bird is half crocheted and half sewn from recycled and scrap fabric. The piece is made (and sort of priced) like art, so it may be better suited to the dresser top, out of reach of small and grabby hands.

Floating Fish Mobile

First to recommend

Description

Although a little basic at first glance, this fish mobile is designed to how simple an infant's powers of recognition can be. Form and contrast are all you really need. There seems to be a Paul Klee reference here that also adds a nice touch.

Smarty Poo Onesie

First to recommend

Description

One of the most on-point jabs at new parents is that they are so irretrievably caught up in infant rearing that they begin to act irrationally. Fetishizing baby feces is way more common than non-parents might think, which is why a onesie like this even exists. But parents understand. (via Tangled & True)

Puj Booti

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

An asymmetrical booty that may only appeal to those who have some space in their hearts for Birkenstocks, the Puj Booti has the same European old-lady-shoe feel. But infant comfort with lots of room for wiggling toes is key, and there's an unconventional charm to this shoe.
