Microplane 12 Inch Zester

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

Make your life a little zestier. Orange, lemon or lime zest is very yummy in marinades, sauces, deserts. The peel of the fruit has essential oils, sweet flvor and vitamins. But please, throw away the knuckle eating low-producing zesters of yesteryear. The mircoplane rocks out! Also good for Parmesan cheese and ginger. (via Cooking.com)

Harp Lager

First to recommend

Description

While I don't go out of my way for Harp on its own, it is the sine qua non companion to Guinness in a true Black and Tan. And for that, I would walk to the ends of the earth.

McCann's Steel-Cut Irish Oatmeal

First to recommend

Description

Oats are the "secret" ingredient in the famous Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookie recipe. Of course, that is by now the worst-kept secret in culinaria. But the true secret that separates the good from the great are these chewy, steel-cut oats.

Conscious Cookery Organic/Fair Trade black tea chai

First to recommend

Description

I love a good chai, and hers fits the bill: Pungently spicy with a strong clove note that tingles the palate, but not so much to overpower the flavors of anise, cardamom and black pepper. Sweetened with a little local honey and a cloud of milk, well, who needs coffee?
