Big Night

First to recommend

Description

As an Italian-American, Big Night totally enchants me. And I'm dying to make the big timballo from the dinner! Plus, anything with Isabella Rossellini has to be good.

2006 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau

First to recommend

Description

It's raw, it's sweet, it's euphemistically fruit-forward. OK, it tastes like banana bubble gum. But it's a fun tradition, and it won't kill you to throw back a glass of beaujolais nouveau a year, even if it is Georges Duboeuf.

Reynolds Wrap Release

First to recommend

Description

Reynold Wrap Release is a godsend while baking. Never again will you lose all the cheese atop your lasagne or contend with carbonized bits of gunk fused to your baking pans.

As opposed to the standard 1/2-pint jelly jars, these short, squat jars are cuter and seem more "gifty."

Fran's Dark Gray Salt Caramels

3 people recommended this item

Description

Just received a box of Fran's Greay Salt Caramels from a good friend. The intense saltiness offsets the rich sweetness of the caramel, which has a spectacularly dense texture. Love them! (via Alyson)

Domaine Pinnacle Ice Cider

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

Ice Cider is made much like ice wine -- the apples are left on the tree through the first frost, intensifying the flavor but resulting in a lower yield. Of the ones I've had Domaine Pinnacle pleased me the most. Beyond the expected sweet-tart flavors, it has a complex earthy funkiness. Pairs excellently with a cheese platter at dessert.
