Neuton Battery-Powered Mower

6 people recommended this item

Description

I hate the mess and stink of gasoline! The Neuton Mower offers a more environmentally friendly battery powered design that doesn't produce C02. It's lighter than most push mowers and it's also- my favorite- quiet. The battery will last for around 45 minutes a charge (that's around a quarter acre). However, the lawn obsessed may not like that it has a narrow cut width and that it doesn't seem to fare too well with close cuts (or make cuts that are particularly uniform). It isn't cheap - $479 for the CE 6.2 which comes with a grass collection bag and a side mulching chute. A trimmer/edger attachment is available for $79.95. Garden Groom Electric Hedge Trimmer

First to recommend

Description

I have thorny bushes that manage to always pick through my defenses. I hate, hate, hate raking up the trimmings. To save my poor hands I'm getting this trimmer with a built in collection bag that vacuums up the clippings as you go. The clippings are chopped up nice and fine, reducing the volume substantially. It comes with a built in bag for small jobs and an optional add on bag for larger jobs. The trimmer also has a built in safety guard, for which my clumsy self it grateful. The only downer is that it has an extension cord, but the fact of the matter is that batteries just don't supply enough power to cut through tough branches.

Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless 12-Inch Grasshog String Trimmer/Edger

Description

This trimmer edger does exactly what I need it to do. No messing with gas and funnels and no struggling with long extension cords. Better yet, NO BUMPING or PULLING - it's got an automatic feed system that works great. It's got power enough to cut through those nasty thick thorny weeds that are my scourge. However, the battery life isn't the best ( if you have a huge lawn this probably isn't the trimmer for you) but for my suburban yard it works fine.

Nature Zap Electric Weed Killer

First to recommend

Description

How I love the idea of zapping weeds! This cool weed killer is simple to use- just press it down on the top of the weed, let it cook for a few seconds, and move on. No poisonous chemicals! It works on broadleaf weeds only (dandelions, bindweed, poison ivy, etc) . It can cause burns to skin and clothes but won't set anything on fire, which is always a bonus.

Description

I cut (and edge even!) my grass to keep my neighbors happy- but that doesn't mean I have to fit in perfectly. I am very excited to plant these in my back yard.
