METAPHYS

First to recommend

Description

a neat and simple scrim and screen to partition off and create "rooms" within a larger space and to create some privacy. excellent for loft-living. I also like this for photographers, as I am one, to use as a clear background... it's cheaper than buying rolls of white paper and serves the same purpose of providing a nice clean backdrop for your photos.... comes in different colors also. Simple, chic, and i find wholly necessary.... (via metaphys)

Converse All Star Slip (Natural) - Chuck Taylor

First to recommend

Description

these are by far the most comfortable and versatile shoes that i own and hippest. I have them in pale pink (sounds ick but trust me, is cool), navy, and cream as in here. I wear them with everything from jeans to skirts and they are always cool. Yes, with skirts.... it's all in how you wear it. I've worn them with floral silk dresses and they somehow just 'go' if you can pull it off.... best place to buy them is a little store, can't remember the name , is either through this site or in a little shop by West 11th and 6th next to Ricky's drugstore in NYC - but the website has better deals.... Welcome to The Last Wind-Up!

First to recommend

Description

i like wind-up clocks and have a weird aversion to electric clocks and i like clocks that chime... and have aloud tick; this may drive some people crazy, and if it does, then i don't want to have anything to do with them.... a simple test. I have bought MANY clocks from The Last Wind Up and know Dave Berghold the founder and owner of The Last Wind Up (and remember him when he was neighbor who used to just fix old clocks and my, how he's come up and started a whole freakin' empire!). You could not and cannot find a more reliable source than The last Wind Up - their clocks work and if they do not, David will provide ther service and will always fix it for you and he is always honest about his clocks and the prices are excellent and the clocks are antique and go way way back but are not "junk".... beautifully preserved...

tell Dave Sadi sent you.... he'll know... (via the last wind up - dave berghold)

Letterpress Stationery

First to recommend

Description

anything that is letter-pressed is classy, i think, because it has that embossed type and is handset... these calling cards, and old-fashioned notion, are lovely and whimsical, combining both old and new - the site has many options and i chose only one but these are great.

check it out... (via letter pressed)

Land of Marbles: Sulphide (fox)

First to recommend

Description

this particular marble is the closest i could find, but the marble i recommend has a figure inside of it and is an old-fashioned marble.... as a marble collector, these are very rare and very beautiful.... worth having, even if you use them for decorating and simply filling glass jars in the house - myriad colors of marbles work wonders with the sunlight shining through them, or play, or both like i do.... Transient Books - Hand-bound Originals: Blank Journals, Artists Books, Custom Binding, Wholesale

First to recommend

Description

i tend to use Moleskin journals and some others, a few, that i have only been able to find in Paris, but voila! here they are! and you can make some to your specs. What could be better than that for the journalist or diarist (call yourself what you will). Excellent for writers, poets, artists, photographers, creatives of all type.... (via transient books)

Got All Your Marbles? Interchangeable Jewelry: Rings, Earrings, Pendants, Handcrafted, Sterling Silver

First to recommend

Description

i collect marbles and have never seen anything this cool. If you don't collect marbles, you could buy some and create your own jewelry, or if you are like me, you can use this product to use existing marbles to create a signature that you can change every day -- this is totally unique and really has potential. Never seen anything like it and WANT THIS! (via go totally marbles)

The World's Hat Source

First to recommend

Description

Kangol hats are always "in" and this year in particular are popular - a sort of Edie (Sedgwick) look that rocks my world anyway. I have one in a pale lavendar color and i love it for autumn and winter.... be sure to get the right size so it stays on though...
