My mom has been promoting the Kindle for awhile now, trying to get me interested. I just couldn't get into it. But then I read an article on Barnes and Noble's new eBook Reader, the Nook, and am suddenly more interested than I once was. I've been reading more on it online, and it seems almost too good to be true! You can access tons of eBooks, some of which are even free. You can scroll through your eBook covers. You can take tons of books with you from your "library," no matter where you go. The only downsides I read are that it doesn't have QUITE the battery life that the Kindle does, and it doesn't have text-to-speech options (like the Kindle). However, I think the fact that the memory is expandable (unlike the Kindle) more than makes up for that!

Many people don't realize that you can engrave on the back of an iPod for free if you order from Apple. I did this a few years back and my wife gets a little reminder that I love her every time she turns over her iPod. (via Apple - iPod)
