Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat: Patterned

First to recommend

Description

Once my twins were too big for the newborn car seats, I started using this one. Unlike most car seats this one comes with wings on either side of the head, to offer support in case of a side impact collision (which most car accidents are). Some parents don't like this because the added safety feature impedes the baby's view. My girls have never known anything else, so to them it's not weird that their vision is more limited than other car seats. It can be used for children from 5-65 lbs, meaning that though it is pricey it is a very good investment. (via Babies R Us)

Duck Bathtub by Munchkin

First to recommend

Description

I used the Eurobath while the girls were still really young, then switched to this inflatable tub when they became toddlers. This tub is GREAT. It is comfortable for them to sit in and makes bathing fun. There are suction cups at the bottom so you can just stick it to the wall when you're not using it. My girls are 4 1/2 and still love it. And after 2 1/2 years of owning the same tub, it still makes the quacking sound. It's also SAFER than using your own bathtub because it's smaller. (via Target)

Over The Shoulder Baby Holder - baby sling

First to recommend

Description

I tried about 7 different slings before finding the OTSBH, including the Maya Wrap and every sling sold at Babies R' Us. I chose this one because it carries your baby securely but isn't bulky. It's also very easy to use -- some of those slings were so complicated to put on that they came with an instructional video. (via ParentSafely.com)

Essentials Diaper Bag by JJ Cole

4 people recommended this item

Description

This bag is great for running errands with your baby. I use it even more now that my twins are older, and I no longer have to carry around the baby section of Target with me. It can carry a bottle (in an insulated pouch that is removable), diapers, a onesie, wipes, car keys, your wallet, make-up and still have room for other stuff. It carries more than it looks and is very comfortable to wear. (via Babies R' Us)

Graco Bugs Quilt Pack 'n Play

Description

This is the best playard ever. It's cute, colorful and big enough to fit an adult comfortably. Which I know because I'm 32 and I hung out in it a few times or twenty. My girls used to have so much fun playing together in this, and at the same time I knew they were safe. When it wasn't being used, it was great for holding toys. (via Target)

Avent Express Microwave Steam Sterilizer

2 people recommended this item

Description

Being that I popped out two at once, the first year of their lives was a frantic haze for me. I remember not sleeping very much and rushing around a lot. This sterilizer was great because if I forgot to clean a bottle or a binky (or if my clumsy self dropped it) then I could have it sterilized and ready for use again in 3 minutes. (via Babies 'R Us)

Avent Isis Breast Pump

3 people recommended this item

Description

This was the most comfortable, effective manual pump I used. The pump emulates the suckling of the baby and the suction cup is designed to stimulate the flow of milk. Also, considering how effective it is, $50 is very cheap. If you pick this up, buy the Avent microwave sterilizer I recommended as well. The pump fits in there, making it easy to clean and sterilize. Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer

4 people recommended this item

Description

Bouncy seats are one of the biggest helps to new parents. They relax the baby and can be used to put him or her to sleep when fussy. They also allow you to do things like load the dishwasher, and know baby is secure. These are also good if your baby has acid reflux and needs to sleep at an incline.

Kolcraft Jeep Wrangler Twin Sport Duo Stroller

First to recommend

Description

I used this stroller for over three years, several times a week for long periods of time. It cost me $79 at Buy Buy Baby. People would walk by in their fancier strollers and I would ogle it much like someone would watch a Lamborghini go by. But my trusty little Volvo of a stroller never had any problems or broke, so I never replaced it. $79 bucks. I feel like I robbed Kolcraft. (via Target)

Graco Doorway Jumpster

First to recommend

Description

My nephew and my girls had so much fun in this! They would jump excitedly for a few minutes, get tired then fall asleep. (Which means Mommy can go check her e-mail or make lunch.) When the twins were really small, we sometimes used this as a mini swing. It fits very securely in the doorway and can be used for babies up to 25 lbs. The Graco Jumpster should only be used for babies who can hold their heads up unassisted. (via Babies R' Us)
