Anytime you can get multiple uses out of a piece of furniture its a plus. Benches are perfect for seating indoors or outside, as a step for getting at hard to reach places or to put books on and other odds and ends. Here's my virtual bench collection which I hope one day will be actualized.

This may sound weird, but I like benches. I like sitting on them at picnic tables, at the dinner table, at the park. You can sit on them and then lay on them. You can drape fabric over them and put candles or books or fruit on them. Its just a great multi-use piece of furniture. (via Lekker Home)
