Beer Bots! - a list by DLP

About this list:

Science and technology have finally reached a pinnacle... the alcohol droid. Part Rosie, part Man Show, these little robots are designed to go get you another cold one. While your pained girlfriend is rolling her eyes and muttering under her breath what a geek you are, I'll keep an eye out for one that looks like Elizabeth Hurley. You just keep playing video games. If I see one, I'll let you know.

The Remote Controlled Beverage Cooler

First to recommend

Description

This Beer Bot is a cooler on wheels that operates via remote control. And it's tough enough to withstand rolling across carpet! So don't let a carpeted living room deter you from sending this guy down to the other end of the couch. Then no one has to get up. And that's what it's all about, right? ;)

Bar2D2

First to recommend

Description

It makes me happy that Bar2D2 exists. With wheels and an ice compartment, this guy, in all of his neon-and-plasma glory, is a fully stocked bar cart - and you can program the top carousel to mix you the perfect cocktail! Our little droid buddy even has a second carousel that will rotate the next beer around to you!

Beer Robot - Gizmodo

Description

From the page: "Thanks to Chassis, the lovable, pony keg carrying R/C beer-dispensing robot, you'll no longer need to learn the defining characteristics of Weimaraners and terriers."

I seriously doubt he'll replace Fido, but I bet he'll make a great hydrant.

Beer Robot - Incredimazing

This would be even more awesome if you taught it to have good taste in beer. Or maybe how to pick up the dirty underwear off the floor.

Eww........

Beer Robot - Techeblog

Description

This little beer bot rolls your bottle into position, opens it, lifts it up, and pours it into your cup.

I'm betting the guy who designed this for his engineering class has brought it to every party he's been to since...

"Hey, dude! Are ya bringin' the bot? It's not a party without the bot!"

Japanese Beer Bot

First to recommend

Description

This one actually gets up, gets the beer out of the fridge, and brings it to you... and it talks! It says things like, "Confirming the location of the refrigerator!" (Um... did it... move?!)

Disclaimer: it might be a little creepy that it refers to beer as "the juice," but then again, if you need a robot to get beer for you, it would make sense that you might refer to it as "juice." Just sayin'. *cough*alkie*cough*

R2-Dalek2? Don't even tell me you didn't think it yourself. Because I know you did. So there will be no chastising me for my geekdom. I've had it with your hypocrisy. It just won't do.

Mad scientist + muahahahaha + the canon of geek media + beer barrel + Fairuza's Tock + C3PO dressed up like Mr. Peanut = teh cool.

I need this. Don't even tell me I don't. I veto your pragmatism.

This is a fiberglass model of Bender with a brewer in his belly and a MOS 6502 processor for a brain.

Wine Tasting Robot

First to recommend

Description

If you're not so much into beer, I've got one for you... these little guys have taste sensors that can identify up to 30 wines, complete with origins and attributes.

The robot uses infrared light to irradiate a wine sample, analyzing the sample for its ingredients and then comparing those ingredients to the wines it has cataloged in its database.

Not only is he smart but he's kind of cute too!
