SORRY, this site will not allow me to show the photos of the fantastic architecture going on here....Italian architect Renzo Piano is aspiring to earn the mark of the ultimate green museum - LEED Platinum, the highest rating of the U.S. Green Building Council . ( LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) I cant wait until THe new California Academy of Sciences re-opens..go to this site and check it out....worth the visit.

Franco Deboni Glass plate with white scum

Description

Franco Deboni is a Milan based glass artist...he is making glass like never before... Dark, earthy colours for vases, glass that cannot be seen through...craterlike surfaces , using techniques learned at the knees of Albino Carrara (Venetian glassmaker who worked with Picasso and Cocteau) he knows the boundaries of glass making and he shatters right through them to create some of the most beautiful pieces I have seen...unfortunately they are hard to find...this plate is beautiful, however his vases, simple shapes, dark and metallic colours are really divine...look for his book and work...worth the effort.

Hand built stoneware with a minimum of oxide decoration or glaze... all of Christine Curnows pieces are non-functional. I love the stepping and grooves in her work. Beautiful in or outside...get a grouping going.
