Saint Louis Excess Stemware

Description

Absolutely, positively the most glamorous stemware available. These stems feels magnificent in the hand -- nice weight and balance. I was lucky enough to drink from them at a party, and I swear the wine tasted better. Honestly, though, these are unique and gorgeous on the table.

Ok, so this is WAY out of my price range, but I'm adding it because it's so fabulous and because the Director of Art de la Table at Hermes (owns Puiforcat) told me a fascinating story about this china. China used to be so precious that only royal courts would feast on china plates, and they banded these plates in silver or gold to protect them from chips. That's why most china today has a silver or gold band painted on -- a decorative vestige of the actual metal band. Cool.

William Yeoward Gaby 5 Branch Crystal Candelabra

i love the lines of this candelabra, which is also available in a 3-arm version. i think it would look equally great in modern and classic decors -- it's just so simple and sleek -- no goop to get in the way of enjoying the candlelight.

I'm going to warn you that I have not found a place online to buy this. If you click 'buy this' it will just take you to the William Yeoward site. However, I happen to know that Neiman Marcus stores have this item and that it is very reasonably priced for a crystal candelabra. Seriously!
