Spliced Scarf Sweater

Ahhh Fall. I love the crispness in the air, and the fact that I can buy more sweaters and jackets than I really need. I love the whimsy of this sweater. Start with a plain grey-brown wool blend, then add in lots of funky scarf pieces. This could come off really badly, but it looks cool and restrained, not silly.

There's something about velvet that I just love. I know, it can be used really badly, and be totally cheesy, but it can also be used in fine pieces like this really structural jacket. And the buttons! Love the buttons on the collar. This would be a great fall basic.

This looks like a great, comfy, stylish way to extend some of those summer tops that you can't let go of, even though there's a chill in the air. It's feminine with the ruffles and bunching, but it's very subdued, and could be worn with oh so many things. Love the versatility, and, of course, I love that it's jersey.

I love the lines of this top. The little hints of lace-like flowers help hold onto the summer a little longer, but the look in muted grays is quite ready for the fall. In super-soft jersey too!

This piece has just enough whimsy. Bone china that has been filed so it's matte, but still smooth to the touch. The natural cotton cord keep the whole piece feeling very subtle and natural. A last little touch of summer's magic to usher you into the fall.

Off-center and oh so sweet. Love the playful feel to this shirt. I like the boxy feel, almost a little utilitarian, but the touch of frill on the buttons keeps it fun.

A great, simple, casual way to extend the life of your tanks and tees into the fall. Stretchy pima cotton, with a simple stalk design printed front and back. I love just about every design that ahpeele comes up with, and this subdued number is no exception.
