Don't judge these books by their covers.
It might seem like these are a bunch of books about spoiled rich kids (and ok, they kindof are), but there is so much more to them than just gossip. Cecily von Ziegesar creates interesting and lovable (or hatable) characters, and writes in a way that draws you in and makes sure you never want to leave the large, luxurious world of Blair, Serena, Nate, and all their friends. von Ziegesar's New York is filled with humour, romance, drama, and a whole bunch of irony that keeps you guessing right till the very end.
Even if you can't stand that Sex and the City vibe, there's bound to be someone you can relate to in one of her books.
