Homegrown Revolution T Shirts
First to recommend
Description
I love the idea of this t-shirt because it's saying that we can empower ourselves by being more self-sufficient. Not only with the prices of food lately, but we know what is being put into - or NOT put into - our food. Growing season is over and I'm sad. I had only two tomato plants and it gave me more than enough tomatoes for the summer!
I especially love it when websites provide info on their products that make you more informed on their environmental purpose. Here's what they say, "The environmentally safe screen printing process on these articles of clothing involve non-aerosol adhesives which reduce CFC emission into the ozone. Printing is done with non-toxic, water-based inks and post-production clean up involves filtering any excess inks with soybean and citrus based solvents through a filtration system to capture emulsion sediment and ink pigment for safe, non-toxic disposal."

Look at that, 100% post consumer recycled at Office Max! Is there ANY reason we all shouldn't be buying it? They also have 30%, but why?
Just bought two reams and I felt great doing it. It's sad that more local places don't offer more eco-friendly options.
More recycled products!!!!

This magazine is the BEST - I'm going to cancel my Smithsonian, just to get it (don't want to get more paper than I have).
The articles are great and best of all...the advertisements aren't supported by some gas guzzler - they are actually sustainable and green ads. Very nice

Worm composting
First to recommend
Description
Composting with worms is so easy! This is perfect for a small apartment in the city.
Worms + shredded paper + food (not meat or stuff like that)
= yummy food for plants!
If you get more compost than you could use, the BEST gift would be to wrap these up in something environmental and give them as gifts to gardeners! They would accept it as if it were gold.
And HELLO! Kids would love to watch this process.
