Potato Gun

Description

Once upon a time I wanted a Potato Gun more than any other thing I knew of, and I had one, but I didn't know it was a Potato Gun until much later. After it was broken. When I examined it, after many years, I realized the true purpose of my spud gun. To shoot potato bits. Though I simply was not aware. And then it was too late.

Now? My son has a Potato Gun. And he knows exactly what it is for. And I shall live vicariously through him.

Added bonus? Also shoots apples.

You've seen it happen a million times. You spend twenty bucks or a hundred on a new toy, and your kid ends up playing with the packaging. Or the bag you brought it home in. Why not cut to the chase? Your kids love the paper bag because paper bags are cool. You know they're cool, but maybe you've forgotten. Cut it up a bit. Draw on it. Put it over your hand or over your head. Make a new game. Carry something around. Don't over-complicate things. Get yourself some sacks, yo.

Men's Hush Puppies Amusement Slip - ons Cement

Description

Once in awhile something comes out of my mouth that makes no sense at first blush, but then becomes true almost immediately. Such as the moment just before now when I said "I need me some new Hush Puppies." Thing is, I didn't have any old Hush Puppies, but saying it out loud made me know, yep, there were Hush Puppies out there that I likely had to have.

And here they are.

I need me some new Hush Puppies.

I have a flag, but I rarely put it out. I'm thinking I might be more likely to put out a Betsy Ross. I don't even know why. Except I like the "constellation" of stars in a circle. And Betsy Ross was hot, of course.

I have no actual evidence of this actually happening, but I just have a feeling that inexpensive, high-cover, simple-color (red) barn paint is going to be the thing to use, very soon. On houses. On barns. On garages. On your dog.

Please don't use it on your dog.

Again, I've no reason to actually think it's actually going to happen... except my own gut, which says, when passing the big five gallon bucket at the farm supply store "hey, cool, barn paint!"

Let's Get Small: Steve Martin

One of the great comedy albums of all time by on of the greatest comedians of all time. Steph Martian. Or something like that. Stepon LaMartîn. Stee Lo. Damn. He's funny. Just look at those wacky balloons!

Also likely very small at the time.

I used to listen to this "record" on the "record player" while babysitting... um, after the kid was in bed, of course. I likely wore myself out laughing.

Arm & Hammer baking soda (or just about any baking soda, really, though I mostly use Arm & Hammer) is and was and always will be one of the most versatile cleaning, baking, de-odorizing, hammering, white-powdery substances in the world. Every-body should have giant bins of it at home ready to roll. I certainly do (just bought a big container like this one this weekend, so I'm ready to roll). Just because it's been around forever doesn't make it any less revolutionary, y'all.

Keep yourself armed.

I know Superman isn't exactly the most fashionable super right now, but if you've got a toddler who likes to jump from the furniture, you might just have to have one of these. It offers special protection from injury. I just know it does. Somehow.

Maybe it's psychological. But no matter.

Gimme some o' them Superman pajamas. They are truly and forever awesome.
