As was wont to happen, this bag blew up all over NYC when Sarah Jessica Parker wore it on Sex and the City (think The Upside Down Horseshoe Necklace Phenomenon). Despite the fact that it's been a few years since that, I think the functionality of this bag makes it timeless -- not to mention the fact that it's Gucci. I wore this a lot with both jeans and skirts. Although I felt like a dork for a hot second (because it IS a glorified fanny pack), I was soon won over by how good it looked and the fact that it left my hands free. My favorite part (besides the long pocket on the inside ensuring protection from pickpockets) is the silver belt buckle. The pack comes in black, grey / black, and brown and is available with a plain belt or the traditional red and green Gucci colors. Seriously, you want one of these. My sister got me these boots for Christmas and though I had to return them because I had to choose between these and pair of slightly heavier, flat heeled YSL boots, I loved them when I had them for those two days.

Wedge heel knee-high boots are wonderfully versatile footwear for travel, though you wouldn't think so because they're big and heavy. However, if you wear them on the plane, you save room in your luggage. They do double duty in the city for both pants and dresses because they're boots, and they have a heel! Apepazza's boot has a wedge heel, which gives you height when you're touring town with your 6'3 boy, but because it's a wedge, it's far more comfortable than balancing on a tiny stiletto.

The 8525 is like my central nervous system - it runs everything in my life. If I accidentally leave it at home, I feel lost and naked, since so many times, I have to call up maps or directions on the web.

It's probably a little too powerful for what I need, getting to the web and email while I'm out and about, but still, I like knowing that if I need to do some spreadsheeting on Excel, I can. It also works with the Slingbox, so I can watch tv on it! I love that I can use the touch screen or slide it open and use a full qwerty keyboard with big buttons that can handle my manicure.

i've been using my canon sd500 that my parents bought me for my combine b-school graduation and birthday back in...2003! yes, it's a great camera, takes good pictures, but it's the size of...a microwave oven.

Obviously, it would be nice to have a big fancy video camera with me on a trip to the city, but the Flip is so much better for travel because 1) it's tiny so it'll leave room in my suitcase for more essential items like boots, 2) it's not that expensive, so if it happens to get lost, I won't feel the financial pain, and 3) it plugs directly into a USB, so there's no need to carry an extra cord and it's easy to upload footage and blog on-the-go from the hotel room (or airport gate, or taxicab, or wherever).
