RADIUS Source Toothbrush

First to recommend

Description

Ok, I've been using this for almost a month now and what I thought was going to be awkward turns out to be comfortable. That hump in the handle........melts right into your palm. And the medium brush is more like soft, which my dentist recommended. Overall: Happy

"Replaceable head toothbrush with renewable resource handle. Wood Fiber blended with PLA, a plastic derived entirely from Nebraska maize. The resulting material is 100% renewal resource."

It is kind of silly that we must throw away an entire toothbrush. I'm not sure how much impact this would have, but it states something about how one prefers to live. (via PLENTY Magazine)

Poor Richard's Woodserve

Description

Now, I am excited about this product. Why?
1. The brain-child of two guys tired of petroleum products
2. "No heavy metal drying agents, harsh chemicals or petroleum. Made up of natural oils, the majority of which are recycled, and fruit oils."
3. Can be used in organic garden to treat posts and lumber, for decks and arbors or indoors to restore nature wood trim and cabinets.

These guys tout "at least 70% of all of our products is derived from vegetable oil that we recycle from restaurants and culinary schools."

Intermatic WH21 Electric Water Heater Timer

First to recommend

Description

It gets great reviews on easy installation and savings of approx. 33% on electric bill. Many users say they have the water heater set to be on for only 4 hours a day (around peak usage) instead of 24! Sometimes I wonder why logic has to be bought!

Looks like these are easy to find around Amazon and maybe your local store. (via Ideal Bite)

Description

I want to know if this works! It looks like a great simple way to deter wasps from taking up residence at your house.

website says:
One of the easiest ways to discourage wasps from hanging around your porch, patio or picnic site is by using this simple mock wasp nest. Because wasps are territorial, they recognize the nest as a hazard to avoid.

Made from lightweight, recycled polyester fabric, it has an integral hanging loop and measures 12" high. In our tests we found it deterred wasps, including yellow jackets, up to 20' away. You may need two or more to cover large areas.

A great alternative to conventional traps

Sunlawn LMM-40 Push Reel Mower, Similar to Brill Luxus

First to recommend

Description

For smaller yards, it is much easier to pull this bad boy out than worry about gas and oil and starting and noise. Just seems ridiculous NOT to use it. (Over an acre, look into an electric)
Also, I will take this time to remind people to LEAVE THE GRASS CLIPPINGS ON THE LAWN! As long as the grass isn't so high that it's leaving huge clumps, those clippings are better for your grass (nitrogen=green) than any fertilizer. I'm an ex-landscape designer, so you can trust me. Heinz White Vinegar

5 people recommended this item

Description

White vinegar is always in my cabinet, and I always need it at the most random time. Say, if I'm inspired by something to make a new dish. Or if I decide I want to make collard greens. Or for cleaning. Its also something I use as a salt substitute when cooking. (via BuytheCase.net)

Description

Clean up your Cleaning!
Get rave reviews about the scent... I'm excited to smell it, as the normal scent of parsley is a bit strong. 100% biodegradable, no SLS, non-toxic, sustainable ingredients, gentle, and can be used on wood!

Look for it at your local store, as they MAY carry it.

They tout that the bottle is #1 recyclable plastic, but most cleaners are.

Description

My favorite thing right now: reusable sandwich bags and were created by a mom tired of using plastic bags. Lined and coated with nylon, which means they can go in the washer or just be wiped off. Some products are reusable but the longevity is in question, I wouldn't say that about these!

Lots of snazzy designs for kids and adults!
