Eight O' Clock Coffee - French Roast

First to recommend

Description

This coffee is so good that my FIL just told me that he looks forward to staying with us because I make the best coffee in the world. I have a grind-and-brew and these beans are cheap and you can get them anywhere.

Even - cough - Wal-Mart.

I've tried other expensive brands and coffee-shop house roasted beans, and I always come back to this brand.

The Joy of Cooking

15 people recommended this item

Description

I am not a very good cook, but I do know how to read. If you also know how to read, get this book.

It covers all the basics like roasts and cookies, and it also has some fantastic, simple recipes that will knock the socks off the folks at your table. I personally recommend the artichoke dip, my speciality. I refuse to tell anyone where I got the recipe - but I just told you, didn't I?

I really could not live without this. My family would starve.

Hoover H3060 FloorMate

First to recommend

Description

I am completely undomesticated. And I love hardwoord floors. Not a good combo, but the Floormate makes it possible for me to be lazy and still keep a clean house. Load this baby up with cleaner and hot water and it scrubs your floor until it sparkles.

And all you have to do is push the thing.

Genius.

What's not to love? They have everything I need and a whole lot of cool stuff I'd never know I wanted unless I went to Target! I was so grateful to find out we have one here in my new hometown. Target rocks.

Garnet Hill Duvet Cover And Sheets

First to recommend

Description

This bedding set is modern, but the warm colors and 100 percent cotton make it very livable. I've had this in two master bedrooms of differing color schemes - it seems to go with everything. My furniture is vintage Art Deco and the juxtaposition of old and new is delicious. Plus, the more you wash them the softer they get. Buy the whole set - you won't want to mix and match with solids once you see it on the bed.

Garnet Hill Percale Bedding

First to recommend

Description

I have this in our guest room, which is the same neutral beige as most of the house. Contractors are so imaginative when it comes to paint colors, no? These perk up the boring room and they are totally comfy. Here's a secret ... sometimes I sleep in here alone just because I love these sheets. Plus, my husband snores. Again, get the set. They are hard to match with solids.

ps - they also go great with a light blue, which is the color of my old guest room.
