Pantene Pro-V Breakage Defense DEEP CONDITIONING MASK - 7.6oz jar

All I can say is WOW! Pantene is by far the most advanced of the drugstore haircare brands in my opinion, and this lastest new product in the Relaxed and Natural line is proof of it! I used this mask 2x week for several weeks (after using the Pantene Relaxed and Natural Shampoo).

The cosistency is thick and creamy - sort of like pudding. I applied and used with heat under a bonnet dryer as well as without. Upon rinsing out my hair was super soft, moisturized without being greasy, and best of all, shiny! When blowing out my hair it felt amazing and swingy and it really DID help with my hair breakage. I will continue to use and am looking forward to trying more of the Breakage Defense line of products. (via palacinka)

Miracle Mist Heat Defense Conditioning Spray Alberto VO5

This is a great product! It left my hair silky smooth and very conditioned. I love the fact that there is no alcohol and that it contains silk (which is a godsend for my relaxed hair for some reason!) and five vitamins. Is designed for use before blow drying and use of either hot rollers, curling irons and flat irons.

I tried applying it when my hair was wet, followed by blow-drying. I also used it on dry hair just before using my curling iron, and also with hot rollers. The smell is also pleasant- a floral/fruity fragrance which is not too overbearing and lingers just long enough. Overall, a very good heat protectant. My final verdict is that this works well, my hair feels soft and smooth, would continue to use. (via drugstore)

Kiss My Face Whenever Shampoo, Frequent Use

I think this is an excellent shampoo. It smells so amazing (like green-lime Jell-O). This is a Sodium Laurate Sulfate free product for those of you who do not wish to use products that contain this cleansing agent. But it spread well in my hair and made a nice lather. Note: Sodium Laurate Sulfate free products do not lather as well as those that contain it since this agent is designed to create bubbles. It is nice that it does not have any Sodium Laurate Sulfate and still works well. Nice!

It rinsed out well and my hair was shiny and bouncy and so smooth! There was nothing in this shampoo to weigh my hair down. I also love the fact that the line is cruelty free as well, which is one of the reasons I was happy to try it. (via palacinka)

Conair CD103CS Satin Finish 1-1/2-Inch Ceramic Curling Iron

Description

These curling heat up in 60 seconds and have multiple heat settings. Which allows these irons to make any hair type straight to very coarse perfectly pliable. The ceramic material allows maximum styling with minimal damage. The best thing is that they are really affordable curling irons! (via palacinka)

Alterna Hemp Sheer Pomade

I love this. I'm a big pomade user, and have tried several with varying results. This Alterna hemp pomade gave me just the performance I was looking for. The texture of the pomade is nice and light, and a little bit goes a long way, which always means you save money in the end. I used it every day and I didn't run out of it quickly. It helped pick up the color in my highlights as well. It also smells so good - there's an citrus (orange/tangerine) essence to it. I used this in my hair to help hold out textured flipped out ends, or when I just wanted to wear it slicked back as a wet look. It worked like a charm, giving my hair a nice amount of moisturization and a pretty sheen to my hair. (via drugstore)

SoftSheen-Carson Weave Care Weightless Sheen Spray

What a fantastic concept, whose time has truly come. I used this daily on my relaxed hair and on my extensions and I was very pleased with the nice shine, no oily or greasy film (or product build up) and a nice fragrance. In addition, it made my natural hair very soft and prevented frizz on my ends of my weaved hair.

This is also fantastic for those of you who have braids or on temporary extensions (e.g. clip ins). I can’t wait to try more from this line. (via Palacinka)

SoftSheen-Carson Weave Care Featherlight Detangler

I recently wanted to try a different look and had my hairstylist put in some extensions to give me more length, in the same curly texture and color as my natural hair. After washing several times a week I used the detangler before using a diffuser and finger combing. What impressed me is that after using this product, my hair looked just like it would after I would have my hair done at the salon.

My extensions looked great and were very shiny (as was my natural hair, which did not get sticky or feel heavy from this product). The detangler smelled incredible and I also used a small amount a few times a week to freshen my extensions (which I’ve noticed can pick up smells). This is a product that truly delivers. Miss Jessies Curly Pudding

This product is the first product that I can honest say has changed the way my curls look and behave in any kind of weather. The texture of this cream really is like that of a pudding (and it’s purple, but goes on the hair completely clear).

What’s great about this pudding is that I could use it in so many ways. It is meant to lengthen curls, so on days when I wanted more of a soft wavy look, I would finger comb some into damp hair and let it air dry. I also used it as more of a pomade to slick back my hair when I did a sleek pony tail or updo. It helped out so much with frizz and flyaways too! The product does not get greasy or stiff or sticky and there is no product build up (but you don’t need to use too much!). After using curly pudding my loose curls, when I left my hair out were defined, yet soft and relaxed.

The pudding also makes my hair super soft and manageable (no tangles!) and felt very healthy. This is perfect for curly and wavy hair types that are drier (but if you have naturally very tight curls/kinky hair this is not the formulation for you, please check their site for their additional products). I am now hooked on Miss Jessie's and you will be too! It has a luxury price tag, and it’s worth every penny. For those who don’t want a scented product, this now comes in an unscented version without the purple coloring.

Note: These products are fantastic for women of ALL ethnic backgrounds that have loose to medium curls or very wavy hair that tends to frizz or have dry hair. (via Palacinka)

Burt's Bees Avocado Butter Pre-Shampoo Hair Treatment

This is a great hair treatment (not a traditional conditioner). There are a few things that should be noted however for best results. The texture of this product is greasy and thick, which made it ideal for my thick hair. It is a pre-shampoo treatment - meant to be applied BEFORE you shampoo and condition your hair.

I loved using this every week or so to give my hair a rest from blow drying, when I let my hair dry naturally. I applied about 1 1/2 inches (it comes out of the tube like toothpaste) to my damp hair, combed it through with a wide tooth comb (sometimes I then twisted it into a low bun), and then let it dry naturally. When it was dried I was very happy with my frizz free waves which were not sticky, oily or weighed down. My hair was shiny, soft and felt really conditioned and healthy. I also love that it’s 99% natural.

This also worked well for me as a leave-in styling aid. I only used a nickel-size amount on my dry hair and the results were fantastic (more than that and it did feel a little greasy). At first it didn't seem like my hair was absorbing it very well and it felt a little greasy. After a few minutes though, my hair felt really soft and was much less poofy and frizzy and remained that way all day.

Phyto PHYTOPLAGE Moisturizing Hair & Body Wash

This is a fantastic, luxurious 2-in1 product that is perfect for summer trips to the beach or just trips in general! From Phyto I would expect no less, since I am a big fan of their hair products which also work very well for me.

The wash is a smooth silky liquid that is thick and rich. It’s very concentrated so just a few squirts of the tube produced all I needed to cleanse both my body and my hair. The lather is super creamy with a rich fragrance that I loved. It’s a lovely, decadent spicy, slightly floral scent that was not too overpowering, but did linger on my body and hair nicely after rinsing off.

Post shower my skin was very soft and hydrated and I skipped using lotion on most days (very dry skins will still need an after shower moisturizer). My hair was soft, shiny and not weighed down at all. All traces of chlorine/sand from the beach were gone from my as well.

Note: As a shampoo, this formula works best on naturally straight, wavy and healthy relaxed hair. (via Palacinka)
