So Short A Season - a list by hanahula

About this list:

While the professional baseball season continues throughout more than a half of any given year and you can catch a game on any night of the week, football has a much less face time. Perhaps that is a good thing for the players' bodies, but it can be a bit frustrating for those die-hard fans who wait all week for the one game their team will play. The season is short enough to keep the fans hungry. Very hungry.

Qualifications:

My high school biology teacher was the football coach.

Rudy

3 people recommended this item

Description

Based upon the real life adversities and triumphs of Rudy Ruettiger, this movie reveals what never-say-die really means and how much power you can have when you believe in yourself. Even with the legend of Notre Dame and the intensity of college football as elements of the plot, the story of Rudy himself remains front and center.

Keep your head in the game by viewing a few football-inspired flicks in between games. "Brian's Song" is one of my tear-jerking favorites.

Description

Perhaps more a chick flick than a guy movie, Jerry Maguire is nonetheless worthy of watching for those of you who favor the underdog.

Bidding begins on October 19 for 2,000 seats in the David Rockwell-designed space located directly behind the Jets' team bench. All food and beverages consumed during the game, reserved parking and priority ticket purchases for other stadium events are just some of the exclusives members will enjoy. And with Brett Favre in quarterback position, this may be the perfect year to get up close and personal.

Reebok: Women's Raglan Sleeve Jets Tee

First to recommend

Description

So, the New York Jets managed to outsmart the YAC (yards after catch) strategy favored by the Patriots, eventually emerging victorious in a game that spilled into overtime last Thursday night. We'll see if the last-minute addition of Ty Law to the Jets roster is making a lasting impact when the Jets greet the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, November 23.

Description

It's a whopping 25 degrees Fahrenheit here in New Jersey, where the Eagles will meet the Giants later today in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. If you are brave enough to cheer for the Eagles in Giants Stadium, you are undoubtedly brave enough to wear a hat declaring your allegiance (and your sensational sense of style.)

NFL Shop: Women's Pittsburgh Steelers Mini Jeweled Football Purse by Kathrine Baumann

Description

In the midst of all my excitement over the Presidential Inauguration, I admit I took my eye off the ball. Fortunately, the Pittsburgh Steelers weren't counting on my offensive ability to guide them to the 43rd Superbowl. But given this moment in history - Bruce on stage, Obama in office, America rising - I cannot think of a better way to celebrate than to cheer for my favorite tribe this coming Sunday.

NFL Shop: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Terrible Towel - Set of 2

First to recommend

Description

The "Terrible Towel", although it may sound silly, isn't really such a silly idea. In fact, in addition to giving the fans a way of demonstrating their support for their five-time Superbowl Champs, proceeds from the sale of the official towel help support a school of developmentally disabled adults in the Pittsburgh area. So, wave 'em high, Steelers fans !
