About this list:
well, to be truthful all you need to knit well is yarn and needles...but these are all the things that make knitting fun.
Knitting Needle and Crochet Hook Gauge
First to recommend
Description
When my grandmother died, as the only knitter in the family, I got all of her knitting stuff. This meant that I inherited tons of knitting needles, but as it turns out needles that were decades older than me often have had the size worn off of them. A gauge card like this would let me know what size I'm knitting with!

Coil Knitting Needle Holders

Description
I LOVE these. As in, I always have them with me, as in I get sad when I lose when, as in I no longer get poked by stray needles. They are awesome. Needles stay together when traveling or in storage. No longer do I stick all my needles in the ball of yarn I'm using.

Cloisonne Knitting Stitch Markers

Description
I love these stitch markers. I lose stitch markers like crazy. But I think, maybe if I had something pretty like this to mark my stitches, I wouldn't lose them. After all, metal rings are far nicer than scrap yarn.

Field of Flowers Beaded Knitting Stitch Markers

Description
I thinks these beads are cute to begin with! Add them to a useful part of my knitting process and they are just adorable. In a festive blue, spring green and poppy red I'll have to knit a pattern just so I can play with them!

Sock Wizard
First to recommend
Description
To be honest, one of the reasons I've avoided sock patterns is that they seem so complex some times! I'm all about a program that can make it easier for me to knit (at least until I get the first couple pairs knit).

Knitting Row Counter
First to recommend
Description
A few scarves back I made a pretty complex scarf for one of my friends. It took me forever partly because I was continually counting my rows. A knitting row counter is such a handy thing I'm surprised I never thought of looking for one before. No more ruining my eyes trying to count rows!

Kookaburra Woolwash
First to recommend
Description
The first time I made a sweater it was the second project I knit (I'm lucky it didn't turn me off knitting for good!). It's this huge turtle neck that looks okay but doesn't fit right, at the same time whenever it's super cold I slip right into it and I'm warm (it's 100 % wool and tightly knit). I've needed to wash it since this winter (don't worry, it's not like I'm wearing it now) and this wash with tea tree oil will get it clean, and kill allergens and bacteria.

Soft Ring Knitting Stitch Markers

Description
As pretty as all those glass and metal knitting rings are sometimes you just need a lot of them! In large projects that need a lot of marking, the basic rings are the way to go. And in neon green and purple, at least they won't blend in with the carpet.

Lantern Moon Molly Knitting Bag

Description
I'm a bit of a label junkie when it comes to purse. Except for vintage purses (the exception to my rule) you won't find a purse in my collection that isn't dooney, coach, burberry, betsey johnson, etc. I have been keeping my yarn in this coach doctor's bag. But it really doesn't fit. Maybe it might be time to break my rule and buy an off brand purse that will do want I want it to do, instead of adapting a purse that isn't meant for the job.

Folk Hats: 32 Knitting Patterns & Tales from Around the World (Folk Knitting series)
First to recommend
Description
I've knit one hat. It's this fuzzy mohair thing that I adore (even when it's itchy), but looking at some of the hats on the front of this book I think it might be fun to make another. I mean, look at that cute little bird hat...makes you feel like you should be in the 12 days of Christmas.
