Lion Brand Yarn: Just Scarves

Description
You could almost say my knitting calling card is the scarf. I'm slowly covering my friends in scarves. Not only can a person never have too many scarves, it's fun to try out new patterns in a small project (I like my knitting to have a permanent end result).

25 Bags to Knit: Beautiful Bags in Stylish Colors

Description
Far too many years ago I got this purse from Old Navy (it was before I implemented my purse rule and I don't have it any longer). It was a cable knit bucket bag. It was a great autumn purse (though not all that professional), I eventually beat it to pieces and gave it up. This book looks fun, because I like knit bags but have no clue how to make them.

I have this horrible weaknesses for pink, it's like pavlov's dogs. Except instead of a bell, pink makes me salivate. This book looks like it can back up my love of pink with fun (and easy! who doesn't love easy!) projects. I know it's probably slightly cheater of me to like easy knitting projects, but I figure cute is cute whether it's hard or easy to make.

Description
The thing about knitting, is that even though lots of people associate it with older women, any one can knit. After all, it used to be a male craft. Knitting is fun when it's treated like fun. I might not approve of all the words in the title, but I still like the book.

Hand Spun Angora Yarn
First to recommend
Description
Angora is so soft and fluffy it's perfect to make sweaters or baby blankets out of. When you look at the price you might think it's expensive, but I always console myself with the fact that knitted items last so long. (also, if you are going to give someone a present, you might as well do it right).

Cherry Tree Hill Artisan Lace Ocean K56

Description
Since I knit a lot of scarves a year, I'm always looking for ways to spice them up. One of my favorite is to do a cable stitch on variegating yarn. It leaves this sort of ombre almost result. I have a friend who loves blues and greens, perhaps this is her year for a scarf?

Cherry Tree Hill Artisan Lace Pansy
First to recommend
Description
Pinks, purples and reds combine in this variegating yarn. I like it for the pinks and the way they bleed into the purples. It's a bit bright for clothing or something big, but for a hat/scarf/mitten set? Perfect.

Description
One of my friends is a packer's fan. Not the paint your chest kind of fan, but the I like to incorporate packer's colors into my wardrobe kind (though he never thinks about it like that). I think this variegating yarn might be just the thing for him...after all, it's never too early to think about Christmas.

Yarn ball winder
First to recommend
Description
One of the biggest problems with hand spun or hand dyed yarn is it's sold in this twisty coils that I invariably tangle. If it's just you (like it is in my house some days) and you need to wind yarn, you might find yourself contorting into odd angles. Or at least I used to, until the last time I was at the yarn store they asked if I wanted my yarn wound. Now I'm on the hunt for a good yarn ball winder.
