Alternative Modes of Transportation - a list by DLP
Options for This Page
About this list:
With gas prices soaring and passengers getting decapitated on buses, I've been thinking about other ways I might be able to get around Los Angeles. Okay, maybe this list does not feature the most practical ways of propagating.... but then again, no one has ever accused me of being a pragmatist.

Lotus Concept Ice Vehicle
First to recommend
Description
Designed by Kieron Bradley, an ex-Formula One designer, this snow coasting vehicle is built to withstand temperatures as low as -98 degrees Fahrenheit and runs on biofuel. And if the Antarctic terrain is uneven, the frame is light enough for one person to pull it!

Eco Boat

Description
This is supposed to be the fastest eco boat in the world. The clincher? This fish runs on biodiesel. HUMAN FAT. The entire crew had liposuction to power the ship. Now that's dedication!

Description
When I was a little kid, this was called a Pogo Ball. And if you didn't have one, it was like not having a Tickle Me Elmo or a Cabbage Patch Kid or a Tomogotchi or a Furby - social ostracism on a GRAND SCALE!
Who DOESN'T have a POGO BALL?! YOU! Go sit with the LOSERS!

Tigger Hop Along Hop Ball
First to recommend
Description
For the record... this is my preferred method of transportation - Tigger Power. In fact, Tigger could solve the energy crisis single-pawedly. If we had a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots style death match between Tigger and the Energizer Bunny, guess who would win? Go ahead! Go ahead! Guess! Go ahead! Come on! Guess!
The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Are Tiggers are wonderful things
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is I'm the only one.
Yes, I'm the only one
(GRRrrrrrr...) ooOOoooOOooooOOOO!!!

Full Size Drivable Landspeeder
First to recommend
Description
How else can you be expected to navigate Tattooine's harsh terrain without a cushion of anti-gravity beneath you? Only 2400 credits for a fixer-upper! Won't Uncle Owen be pleased?!

GO-Racer System
First to recommend
Description
These racers can be made in a variety of shapes... a computer, a football helmet, a beer keg... and even a toilet. Because... as I've heard, if you were really that lazy, you'd never have to get up.
Okay... wait a minute.... UGH.
Don't talk about these things....
The mechanism for imagining visual details through conversion of rogue comments is strong with this one....

Segway
3 people recommended this item
Description
The Segway was originally designed by Dean Kamen as an assistive technology for people who were typically confined to wheelchairs to be able to balance and maneuver at eye level. Since then, the technology has been used to revolutionize transportation based on the human body's natural inclinations toward balance. And speaking of the Revolution - if you've got the backing for the training, alternative modes of transportation like the segway can be so perfect for that anti-terrorism paramilitary group you're forming on foreign soil! Bonus!

Custom Mobile Barbeque Pit
First to recommend
Description
This isn't really a motorcycle. It's a motorcycle modded into a barbeque pit. But how cool would it be if you could drive and grill ribs at the same time? Come on. You know you want to.
