Getting the Royal Treatment - a list by hanahula

About this list:

It's hard to imagine wearing a wool coat or even a sweater during these warm weather days, but if you pick up a July issue of just about any design magazine you will see fur and wool and tweed along with deep hues of purple, emerald, ruby and sapphire. After a skin-baring summer, we are going to be getting a bit more royal for fall and winter. Although we may have fewer hours of daylight here in the Northern Hemispere, an infusion of luminous accessories may help keep the doldrums at bay.

Qualifications:

No royal blood, but lots of royal taste.

Description

The color of this tote takes front and center, and the single bow is so elegantly done that the bag remains sophisticated rather than showy. You WILL be noticed.

If you are a frequent flier, this cashmere stole will work for you now as a blanket in the frills-free atmosphere of today's airline cabins . . . and later as a regal swash of color over shades of gray.

Madeline Dress by RM by Roland Mouret

First to recommend

Description

The drape is the key to the sensuality of the dresses by up-and-coming British designer Roland Mouret. Every movement will be poetry with the exacting attention paid to every curve and fold of this sapphire blue gown. I call it "orgami tailoring"; you can just enjoy the compliments.

Suede Boot w/ Black Net by Marc by Marc Jacobs

First to recommend

Description

So far, this boot is nameless, referred to merely as "the Maryjane inspired ankle boot". What is most wonderful about it is that Marc Jacobs has left the door wide open for personal interpretation. Wear them as is during the beginning of the season and then add colored tights for interesting contrast as the temperature dips. Wear it with a mini for maximum exposure, or with skinny jeans for a tougher approach. The Maryjane by Marc. Quite a lady.
