About this list:

We just moved into a new apartment in Sunny Palo Alto. Granted it is rented, so we don't plan to splurge on much except on lights. Here is a list of what I am looking at, and also what I am lusting after. Lights are such beautiful architecture.

Qualifications:

I am shopping for lights now, and will save you the hassle!

Bedside Gun table lamp

Description

One has to be very careful buying this for the home. It could look really modern, or it could be mistaken for the real deal (aaah, you know what I mean). If you have traditional decor? Especially the cabin look? I don't recommend. (via laurasweet)

A rather interesting take on what consists of a chandelier. A bit dark for my home, but definitely makes an interesting conversation piece.

This wall sconce by Flos was designed by Antonio Citterio in 2003.
It is a fluorescent wall light providing direct as well as indirect partially diffused light.
The body is of transparent molded glass that resembles an ice cube and so inspired the name.

Carrara Floor Lamp

First to recommend

Description

The Carrara by Luceplan is a truly unique and stunning floor lamp.
It has a striking sculptural quality and provides a soft, yet strong indirect uplightlight. Neutral and invisible, as if made of porcelain, Carrara presents itself as the new single-material Luminator. In public reception rooms, but also at home, it has an elegant but optically unobtrusive presence.
