Passionflower Natural Soap Bar
First to recommend
Description
This soap is INCREDIBLE!!
I wanted an all natural soap that wouldn't leave me smelling like patchouli. I read the ingredients and this DOES have patchouli in it, but I think it's barely noticeable.
The smell is fresh, and natural. Kind of reminded me of summer camp.
It has organic oats in it that provide just the right amount of exfoliation.
I'm in love : ) (via The Greater Green)

Save A Blade
First to recommend
Description
I'm one of those crazy people that occasionally stay up late watching infomercials. If a have a cocktail or two, I'll even place an order. More often or not I end up mad that I made the purchase and the useless product ends up taking up space until I finally drop it in a donation box.
BUT...yes, I said BUT...every once in a blue moon I find something truly wonderful.
Remember the old Temperpedic commercials? The ones where they promise to send a piece of the "space age" temper material? Ya, I ordered that info-pack. Best idea EVER. I now own a Temperpedic bed and I LOVE IT.
Another winner was the One Sweep. It works great on hardwood floors, especially when cleaning up cat litter. I had one too many whiskey & Cokes that night...but I ended up with more than a headache :) Yay.
This may just be the next big, wonderful purchase. Now by big I mean BIG...not size wise. The Save A Blade isn't big at all. Now, mind you, I did just buy this last night and I've only used it once. It may break the next time around, but I did renew my razor, my partners AND my roommates. Not bad for a $20 contraption.
My only peeve is that it's made in China. Not crazy about that...
BUT... if it saves me having to buy razors ALL THE TIME...even if it makes my razors last one week longer...it's worth it.
Razors are SO expensive and such a waste...but I'm SO not ready to be a hairy hippie.

I did ALL my holiday shopping at this one site and received more compliments than any other year EVER!!!!
What does that say? It says that donation gifts are the new hot thing, but even better, they're wonderful, thoughtful, and SUSTAINABLE!! Yay.
They have different ways of donating. The way I chose cost me a few more dollars, but it ensured that the gift was personalized and fantastic.
I went to the gifts section and chose from 1,5000 different "causes" to donate to. It helps to know the people you're giving the gift to, because you are more able to personalize it. Then I chose a card and added a personal greeting. It was sent to the recipients house and voila!!!
The Perfect Gift.
A Priceless Gift.
There are so many to choose from! Animals, environment, children, homelessness, hunger....on and on!
And they cost from $5 - $9,999...so you can spend as much or as little as you want!
Please check out this site. You won't regret it!!!! (via Changing the Present)

Natural Salves,Cremes and Lotions. All natural Deep Tissue Healing Salves

Description
My wonderful partner found this site while searching for x-mas gifts for me. He knows I do the organic, all natural thing and boy did he find a gold mine!!
This salve is something else...it has a warming effect but without the awful chemicals found in most warming creams. It's completely natural and it makes me wonder why I ever used chemical rubs in the first place.
I've used it on his back after workouts, and he's used it on my back during my "time"...His step father also used it when he pulled a muscle. He said the next day it felt almost as if he never pulled the muscle in the first place.
Check this cream out...though it's a salve...you won't be disappointed! (via NaturalFeeling.com)

Wild Hill Soap & Herbals

Description
I received some amazing gifts for x-mas this year from my best friend and I want to share them with EVERYONE!!!
I've been trying to "go green" and I often run into walls. For instance, I like my perfume...there's NO WAY it's organic OR natural. She found this small tin of solid perfume, and it's great. It's violet scented and smells delish!!!!
The other thing was chap stick. I use Burt’s Bees and love it, but she introduced me to a new one...Chai Spice...all I have to say is Y-U-M!!!
What a lovely holiday scented lip protector : )
Check out their website....it could use some work, but the products are divine!!!!!!! (via Wild Hill Herbals)

Sustainably-Harvested Cedar Soap Deck
First to recommend
Description
While "going green" I'm finding that the regular products can sometimes be more convenient. That's a bummer because I don't want to start taking steps backward!!!
The one product I used every day, sometimes twice a day is soap. I've been really happy with the switch to natural, organic soaps overall. The smell is better than I thought it would be. It's not as expensive as I thought it would be. AND...it's better for my health and the environment.
The ONE problem I had was how long it lasts. From what I remember of the chemical bar soap I used in another lifetime was how long it would last in the shower...even if it was constantly wet. I don't even want to know what is IN that soap that allows it to stay solid wash after wash!!!
The natural soap just couldn't hold up the same. I noticed it would get squishy and mushy and it was a real bummer because it would take days for it to dry out and become hard again. Joanna from The Greater Green recommended this soap deck. It's a simple piece of cedar that smells great and lets my natural soap dry out so it lasts longer!!
It's rot resistant and sustainably harvested.
What more could you want????

Wild Carrot Complexion Bar

Description
Ok, so FIRST let me say that I LOVE "awildsoapbar" products. I ordered this one even though I read the ingredients and noticed it had licorice in it <--- I DESPISE black licorice.
Anyway, I got it and realized that it was too much for me in the licorice department. So, if you LIKE the smell of black licorice...GET THIS SOAP!
You will LOVE it.
Me? I'll stick with the other scents : ) (via The Greater Green)

Bumble Bar Organic Energy Bar

Description
Oh my gosh!! These bars just totally made my day the first time I tried them. They are made of a sesame seed base, which is soooo different, but so healthy. Sesame seeds have three times as much calcium as milk! All of the ingredients are organic, and there are no added chemicals, synthetic fillers, or isolated vitamins/minerals- just wholesome goodness. These bars are DEFINITELY the most delicious energy bar I have ever tried!

Tom's of Maine - Naturally, it works.

Description
So, it was quite few years ago now...January of 2006, Animal Care and Control of New York hosted a champagne, hors devours, and silent auction get together to raise money for no kill shelter initiatives at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park. I paid out the nose for tickets, because it was definitely for a good cause.
It was officially called the “first” annual ACES (Animal Care—Exceptional
Spirit) Awards fundraiser for Animal Care & Control of NYC.
It was great, but what's my point????
Tom Chappell of Tom's of Maine was there accepting a Corporate Integrity Award on behalf of his company. I was able to speak with him and I was thrilled to tell him that I had been using his products for some time. I told him how great I thought his company was for not testing on animals! He politely listened as I blabbed on and on...that makes him ONE patient person!!
Well, a few weeks after the award ceremony I read in the paper that Toms of Maine was being sold to Colgate-Palmolive. I was DEVASTATED!!! I didn't understand why on earth they would sell out to such a huge corporate entity...THAT TESTS ON ANIMALS AS COMMON PRACTICE!!
Well, I was turned off...like a light switch.
I didn't buy Tom's of Maine products until very recently. My best friend pointed out that although Tom's may have sold out, his products would be fundamentally the same. She said that by purchasing Tom's products I would in a way be telling Colgate-Palmolive that I didn't want their crap, but that I wanted responsible products instead.
She's just too smart :)
So....I started buying from Tom's again. No disappointment. They still work great. Fresh breath...clean teeth...NO ANIMAL TESTING :)
Can't go wrong there!!! (via The Greater Green)

Organic Hemp Washcloth

Description
There are so many problems with cotton! The cotton industry uses 52% of the world's agricultural inputs, while only producing 4% of the world's agricultural crop. It is such an energy- (and chemical-) intensive crop to produce. Hemp, on the other hand, is a fast-growing, sustainable crop that needs little or no irrigation or pesticides, produces very nutritional beneficial oils and seeds, and has a fiber that is tougher than cotton and mildew-resistant. You'll love this hemp washcloth!
