Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner

2 people recommended this item

Description

I just bought ~>Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner<~ from Joanna at thegreatergreen.com and I'm thrilled. I’ve been a diehard Pantene user for as long as I can remember, but I've become increasingly concerned about my health and the ingredients that make up the products I use daily.

I decided to make the switch and GO GREEN!!!

My first step was with shampoo, conditioner and soap. Out of all of those I was most concerned about the conditioner. Soap is soap...if it's all natural, organic, smells good, and made in a sustainable way, I'm in. I feel similarly about shampoo...but conditioner...that's a whole DIFFERENT story!

I have wavy to curly hair and if I wear it curly, the next day in the shower can be devastating with the wrong conditioner! I was worried that it wouldn't do the job. All the chemicals found in Pantene and all the ANIMAL testing ensures the product works as advertised. Since I'm done with all THAT non-sense I guess I don't know WHAT I expected.

Well I gave it a shot and was pretty impressed. The scent of honeysuckle wasn't something I was too familiar with, but it was quite pleasant. My partner liked it too. He said it reminded him of camp, from when he was younger. That's a nice thought : )

It detangled just fine, smelled great, and left my hair soft.

YAY. The switch to GREEN was simpler than I had ever imagined!!

Thanks Joanna, thanks Aubrey Organics!!! (via The Greater Green)

Raw Organic Coconut Oil

Description

This is it ladies...the LAST moisturizer you'll ever need!

I realized recently that I’ve been SO concerned about what I put IN my body that I neglected to pay much attention to what I put ON my body. Quite the realization…so, I decided to find a better moisturizer. I had previously been using Bath and Body Works products almost exclusively. LOVE the smells and the store is like a candy shop! But one thing constantly nagged at me. It was never clear how or where these products were manufactured and what exactly was in them. Plus there’s a line on the back of all the products that reads: “Finished product not tested on animals.” There are more than a few steps in the manufacturing process…do they test on animals using the UNfinished product?? I am after all, the crazy animal lady…so that never sat well with me.

Scary thought…so I came up with three requirements that this “new” moisturizer HAD to fulfill:

1.) Organic and all natural
2.) Good for all over (face and body)
3.) …and finally, it must taste good

TASTE GOOD, you ask? Yes. My partner requested that I find a product that wouldn’t “leave a bad taste in his mouth.” So I purchased ~Health Support, Raw, Organic Coconut Oil~ from Iherb.com and have never been happier! I ordered it in the summer, so when I received the container, the oil was in liquid form. Coconut oil has a melting point of 76 degrees F so if it's any colder it solidifies. It doesn’t get too hard though and it melts quickly in hand.

First, I was impressed by the smell. It smelled nothing like the coconut products I had become accustomed to. It was a much lighter fragrance…just a hint of earthy coconut. Very nice : )

Second, it was much lighter than I expected. It was so light that I decided to use it on my face. I previously used baby oil after showering and would NEVER have put THAT on my face. It was much too thick and greasy. Now that I use the coconut oil my skin is exceedingly soft and supple <--great word!

Third, I was able to get rid of all of my hair styling products. I no longer require hair spray. I just rub some oil in my hands and apply it where needed…not too much though, it CAN make your hair look greasy! Also I have wavy to curly hair and this stuff rocks for taming the inevitable frizz bomb.

Fourth, my nails were always brittle. It pissed me off when I got them to a nice length and one would split...then I'd have to CUT THEM ALL...because I'm too OCD to let one be shorter than the rest... *tear drop. Anyway, I didn't think about using this on my hands, but when I put it all over the rest of me...I suppose it was getting on my hands by default. Well...it worked out great for my nails! So much so that I don't have to use nail polish to get my nails long anymore : D

Fifth...yes I know.....5 is a bit ridiculous! Seriously though...I almost forgot how amazing this stuff is for MAKEUP REMOVAL! I've taken off pencil eye liner, liquid eye liner, base, blush and even that lipstick that's "not supposed" to come off!!!

Finally…this stuff can be taken internally as well! And by that I mean by eating it ; ) Coconut oil was used exclusively by bakers and pastry chef’s until a smear campaign in the 80s halted production.

I recently used coconut oil instead of Crisco in a recipe for pie crust, and it came out fabulous! I was so happy to find a viable and HEALTHY alternative to Crisco. Did you know that Proctor and Gamble created Crisco as a cheap alternative for candle production? Yes candles...as in candle lit dinner!?! And we EAT this crap??? Not any more, my friends…not any more : )

Here’s to your health and happiness!!! Cheers >(with a container of coconut oil held high in hand)<! (via IHerb.com)

Description

I just recently found this website, and what a treasure it turned out to be!
Joanna, the owner, was so wonderfully helpful and genuinely kind that I am quite sure I'll be a customer with her for a long time!
I am starting to "go green" and her site had everything I was looking for.
I ordered soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The shipment arrived in a timely fashion in a reused cardboard box! What a great idea that is!!
On top of that, she included free samples; biodegradable dish soap & organic candy! But there's still more...she included the invoice and some other written materials all with The Greater Green touch.
I have been fortunate enough to correspond with her and she is very outgoing and helpful. I highly recommend checking out her site. It's a good place to start your "GREEN" journey with products that are affordable and actually WORK! (via The Greater Green)
