Description
These are so appropriate for giving to your friends, whether they have to spend Valentine's Day alone or not. If you want to be really pathetic you can sit and eat them all by yourself. LOL Or decorate a little cake and give to a lonely pal. (via despair.com)

Mad Hatter Pill Box Meds or Madness

Description
This is the best and most hilarious pill box that I've ever seen. I can think of a couple of my friends that would revel in the humor of this. They would also make very good use of it as well! I myself, well...I need a bigger one...

Audition

Description
'Audition' is an awesomely grim movie, but you wouldn't know it at first. This film surprises you. It sort of plods along at first - characters developing, story very slowly unfolding... Then at some point, when you are wondering what all of the hubbub was about, all Hell breaks loose! Man, some of the most creatively twisted things take place from then on out. I'm being completely unstated here. The word "twisted" doesn't even touch the carnage that transpires. Yet so utterly creative.
As far as post-break up movies go, the previous recommendation was absolutely dead on - perfect. I mean, when I thought of taking out my ex, I only thought of predictable blunt force trauma.

The Ex Knife Holder

Description
I would never advocate violence against a former romantic partner, but for some reason this knife and knife holder set is called "The Ex." Cut through your repressed hatred and take it out on this plastic effigy, which holds a set of five stainless-steel knives.

Annals of Gullibility: Why We Get Duped and How to Avoid It: Stephen Greenspan
First to recommend
Description
“Stephen Greenspan has penned the definitive book on why people are gullible. He reveals why so many people are so gullible, the psychology that drives gullible behaviors, and most importantly what we can do about it. Annals of Gullibility belongs on the bookshelves of skeptics and scientists, not to mention politicians and policy analysts, especially before they go to war.”–Michael Shermer, Publisher, Skeptics Magazine (via amazon.com)

Ménage à Trois - Reds
First to recommend
Description
I drank far too much of a delightful red last night. I didn't buy it for the provocative name, but for the very reasonable price ($10) and for the fact that I enjoy red blends.
Menage a Trois from the Folie a Deux Winery is a smooth blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Zinfandel. It's funny --- the label on the front of the bottle says: "Surrender to the seduction of dark, rich berry with a hint of pepper, a lush lingering finish leaving you wishing for more...", and they're right! After my friend and I had killed the bottle, I had no problem asking him to go out and ask pick up another bottle.
I highly recommend this one, with no reservations, but be careful... It's so easy to drink that you will find yourself wanting more...just like the bottle says! (via folieadeux.com)

Well, I could not resist putting these on my anti-Valentine's Day list. If you're going to be eating chocolate on Valentine's Day, it may as well actually do you some good. You may even drop a few pounds. (via enemasupply.com)

Queen Margot (La Reine Margot)
First to recommend
Description
I am not usually a fan of romantic films. This one however, is one of my favorites. Perhaps the historical setting and the unusual amount of bloodletting, fighting and the fact that the romance wasn't treated the sappiest fashion curbed my blood sugar levels.
This film is superbly acted, shot and has the most amazing soundtrack.
Based on a novel by Alexandre Dumas, Queen Margot concerns the events behind infamous Massacre of St. Bartholomew in 16th-century France. Isabelle Adjani plays Margot, betrothed for political reasons to one man (Daniel Auteuil) by her mother (Virna Lisi), while she is, in fact, in love with another (Vincent Pérez). Despite the bond that grows between the reluctant couple, plots are hatching all over the castle against the royals. Adventurous, exciting, erotic, and given strong artistic credibility through its outstanding cast, the film is enthralling and visually sumptuous. Directed by Patrice Chereau, less known outside of France than is the film's producer, Claude Berri (director of Jean de Florette and Manon of the Spring). (via amazon.com)

Memento (2000)

Description
Memento is that DVD that I am always willing to watch again whenever I encounter a friend who hasn't seen it yet. One of the reasons I can enjoy it over and over is that I seem to have some sort of memory loss problem so I can never remember what comes next and it's always new to me no matter how many times I've seen it before.
