Chris Coffee Service Anita by Quickmill

First to recommend

Description

For the price, this simply makes the best cup of espresso you can get at home. It has a double boiler, so you can steam and pour at once. It's pretty on your counter (chrome!)... and it's powerful to boot. I've made as many as 7 cups of espresso in a row without losing quality, temperature, or pressure. I can make quality latte art, and I don't mind drinking an extra cup a day, because even though the machine costs more than a haypenny, I still save money making my own.

Furthermore, I work at home sometimes, and having a machine at home is like having my own espresso bar.

It can be a little noisy when the pump is running to fill up the boiler, but it usually doesn't last long since the pump is pretty darn quick. If you're ready to move up from an okay espresso machine to a semi-pro quality machine, I can't say enough about the Anita. We call ours (of course) "Anita," and talk about her as if she's a person. Because we love her. As will you.

Kéan Coffee Espresso blend

First to recommend

Description

Currently working on their dark espresso roast, and I think I would describe it as a California dark. That is, it doesn't reach the "nearly decimated" far reaches of a Starbucks style roast, but it has no trouble being just as robust as you want it to be. I've found it to be less forgiving than some... once in awhile I end up with a less-than-satisfactory pull... but for the most part, Kéan espresso roast is exactly what an espresso roast should be. Clean. Even. Tasty.

La Spaziale Vivaldi II Single Group Dual Boiler

First to recommend

Description

If you are a total coffee geek (and I know you are), then this might be just the machine for you. Includes a Dual Manometer, 7 day programmable timer, half degree delta, four-hole steam wand, and new LED display make this one a keeper. But you know what else? It won a coffeegek editor's choice award in 2006, and those people are not easily impressed.

I'm not going to give up my Anita for this baby, but if I had the opportunity to snag a second machine, I'd give this a decent ogle.

MACAP M4 Stepless Adjustment Espresso Grinder

First to recommend

Description

One thing you discover when you get yourself a really nice espresso machine is that you need a really nice grinder to go with it because if you have them grind it when you buy it, the coffee quickly goes south. So you want to grind it just seconds before you tamp it, just moments before you turn it into fabulous espresso. And the MACAP M4 is just the fabulous grinder you need. It's pretty. It makes a big noise. And you can adjust it to grind in a dizzying array of grindiness. It takes a little getting used to, but once you get it figured out, your coffee karma goes through the roof.

PAVINA Double Wall Espresso / Shot Glass

4 people recommended this item

Description

We use these for our espresso shots, and they are so lovely to see the espresso pouring into that, well, I don't know if I'll ever use a different set of glasses for this purpose... it's almost as if the espresso and crema are levitating within the glass... as if they are even more magical than they otherwise would be, which, of course, they are.

Oh no. I've just convinced myself that I need another espresso shot right this second.

Bizy Backson. With blessings.

Clover 1s

First to recommend

Description

This is the coffee maker you will be asking your barista about in the next year or so. "Do you have a Clover?" you'll say. Because if they do, you'll want do drink there, but if they don't, youll seek it out. And, luckily, the Clover site has a handy google map of all the stores currently using their single-cup brewing machine.

Of course, now that Starbucks owns the Clover technology and the machines are starting to arrive in stores, you can pretty much expect the number of locations to skyrocket in something like thirty or forty seconds.

Gimme some clover-coffee, man.
