Description

It's debatable whether you need a designer calculator, but this piece from Naori Miyazaki is a fine argument in favor. The slim design is both unconventional and handy for mobility.

Flip Video Camcorder: 60-Minutes (White)

8 people recommended this item

Description

Obviously, it would be nice to have a big fancy video camera with me on a trip to the city, but the Flip is so much better for travel because 1) it's tiny so it'll leave room in my suitcase for more essential items like boots, 2) it's not that expensive, so if it happens to get lost, I won't feel the financial pain, and 3) it plugs directly into a USB, so there's no need to carry an extra cord and it's easy to upload footage and blog on-the-go from the hotel room (or airport gate, or taxicab, or wherever).

Nikon Coolpix P6000

First to recommend

Description

Nikon's Coolpix line keeps pushing boundaries with what an accessible, usable, powerful point-and-shoot camera can look like. The P6000 model clocks in with 13.5 megapixels that will produce images of up to 20"x30". 4X optical zoom, image stabilization, and a 2.7" LCD don't hurt either.
