Setting the Table: The Transforming Power of Hospitality in Business
First to recommend
Description
I love dining in NYC, and I really love Danny Meyer restaurants. Danny's new book is an autobiographical story on how he grew his empire, but it also weaves in business and management lessons. Most of the nuggets can be applied to any business. This is a fun read for anyone in business and/or into dining.

Grateful Palate Artisan Coffee

Description
You can tell I like the Grateful Palate. Dan has had some of the world's best winemakers create their own custom blends of coffees and stamped the bags with the wine labels. It's genius and the coffee rocks. Try some!

Rustic Canyon Winebar

Description
There just ain't many real good restaurants west of the 405. Rustic Canyon reminds me of a neighborhood-version of Tom Colicchio's Craft and now I go every other week. Clean presentation with a focus on fresh ingredients. The menu changes every month, but the stalwarts like the Moroccan Salad and Roasted Chicken stick around. The problem is you can't get a reservation for weeks in the small, former Chinese restaurant on Wilshire. The wine by the glass list is solid, but I wish it would change up a little more often. They keep the 3 large community tables open for walk-ins, so give it a try.

2003 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape

Description
2003 is a killer year for CdP and the Vieux Telegraph is one of my favorites. It's big and backward and will age for a while, but it drinks pretty damn nice right now if you like huge Rhone wines. WS had it at #53 I bought it up at $36.95, but the prices are rising. (via Wine Spectator)

Sustainably farmed vineyards packaged in the eco-friendly Tetra pack. Not sure if the wine is any good, but it is sure sexy looking. I bet the hipster kids will like this for their parties. I think you will see more innovation in wine packaging coming soon. (via Notcot)
