Dress-Up…Not Just for Halloween
First to recommend
Description
What: Aeromax Get Real Gear for Kids
Why: Pretend-play is a big deal at my house, and everyday my little taxi driver “drives” me to New York via San Francisco, Las Vegas and Orlando—not necessarily in that order. So when we discovered Aeromax dress-up costumes, we knew it was going to be a hit.
Forget the fairies and princesses. Instead, you’ll find costumes based on everyday real-life heroes: astronauts, fire fighters, doctors, chefs and mail carriers. And they just released a hilarious costume for your junior jockey. Your tot can always ride Daddy, but there’s also a Wrap-N-Ride Horse that can be worn over the costume. You’ll all be laughing all the way to the finish line.

SATees: Big Words for Little Kids
4 people recommended this item
Description
What: SATees
Why: I admit it. I’m a word nerd. A journalism major with an English minor, I’ve made my living out of word wrangling. While it’s not fair to project on my little one, I really hope that he grows up enjoying the English language as much as I do. That’s why I absolutely love these shirts from SATees. They include a variety of shirts with appropriate big word for you to dress your little person in. There’s “blithesome” (cheerful), “dilatory” (tending to cause delay), “pulchritudinous” (beautiful), and my favorite “puerile” (childish). The day I trotted my son out in his, I got some envious—and knowing—glances from other nerdy moms at the playground.

PlasmaCar

Description
Why: You don’t plan on buying your kid a car until he’s at least 16 (if he’s good), but you might change your mind when you see a PlasmaCar in action. OK, so it’s not a real car, but kids as young as three can cruise around the neighborhood without having to worry about rising gas prices.
That’s because the PlasmaCar is completely kid-powered. No pedals or batteries—all it needs is a driver to turn the steering wheel from side to side, and then physics takes over.
The PlasmaCar is simple enough for my two year old, who has been giving driving lessons to his playground friends, but it’s built so parents weighing up to 220 pounds can enjoy it, too. Sure, my husband and I probably look silly zipping along the sidewalk in it, but the stares are worth it (they’re just jealous).

Description
Why: If you’re tired of disposable clothing covered in brand names, this innocent, delightful, comfortable new line is for you. These beautiful pieces can be mixed and matched; they’re designed so that your daughter may choose her own outfit and always come out looking like the sweet, special child that she is.
San Francisco mom/designer Beth Miles originally created the spirit of ses petit mains for her own daughter. From the darling knickers to the shirtwaist dresses, the soft colors, charming stripes and dainty dots encourage the natural beauty of your child to shine through and enable girls to dance and jump and move freely while looking incredibly adorable. MomFinds: Lamaze Little Rider Foot to Floor
First to recommend
Description
What: Lamaze Little Rider Foot to Floor
Why: Remember how excited you were when you got your first bike? These days, your little one doesn’t have to wait very long until she gets her own. Granted, it’s a four-wheeler, lacks pedals and is barely off the ground, but we guarantee she’ll have a blast climbing on and off and pushing herself across the room. Besides the punchy orange color and little red basket, we love how it doesn’t have any of the annoying lights or sounds you often see in ride-on toys.
