Layers : Quilted vase red with circles

Description

The quilted vases are soft upholstered replicas of one of Jongerius’s previous works - the Red White Vase, designed by Jongerius in 1997 and produced in earthenware by Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum, the Netherlands.
The vases are upholstered using prototype Layers textiles, developed over the past three years in collaboration with Maharam. This unique piece is part of a limited edition of fifteen unique pieces.

Description

The tubes collection is a series of geometric forms interacting with each other like a group of different personalities. Each one has its own agenda, posture and energy. Each form was conceived to be a stand-alone piece but they can also de displayed as a group. The different colors, monochromatic or mixed, textures and finishes enhance the notion of individual personality. The series is a limited and numbered edition, whose unique anti-designs will stand out on any surface.

Mistic Candleholder

Description

This contemporary piece has been designed to be used as either a candleholder, a unique vase or simply as sculptural decor. The glass at the base is boras silicate glass, which is heat-resistant. The seven titanium coated, interwoven, tubes are deep enough to hold individual flowers, for a striking flower arrangement. This design won the "Design Plus" award in 2006.

Medusa Vase

Description

This black opaque sculpture, by Gaetano Pesce for Fish Design, is made from pliant resin, dripped and draped to create a tactile vase. The use of soft, fluid resin enables the ability to create the unique melted effect; this manufacturing process ensures each piece has dynamic features - the wide, elastic vase has a flat base which is draped with black drips. The vase is functional as well as decorative and is stamped by the artist.
