I'm days away from a road trip with a good friend and it's got me thinking some deep questions...what's my playlist? I'll have fun company, the sun shining down and the breeze on my face so I gotta have a tight soundtrack to complete the picture. Description

Buy everything from this artist. Heard him awhile ago and is one of my favorites although he's not very big in the states yet. Good beats, thoughtful message and each album is golden. A good mix of R&B and hip-hop vibe with some singing and spoken word. The first two albums are on iTunes and the latest, Atlantis, is on Amazon.

It's all good but some of my faves...

J Boogie's Dubtronic Science

Description

DJ out of SF but so much more than a DJ, really. He puts on a great show complete with a mixing table, vocals and live instruments. I never get tired of this album. Good beats ideal for some chillaxing. Perfect driving music.

He played recently in Venice. Check him out if he comes to your town.

Sasha: Airdrawndagger

I can't explain exactly why I love this album but it has something to do with the perfect combo of no vocals, just the blending of so many beats and sounds. It's not a dancing album like you would normally expect from Sasha. Wavy gravy makes me warm and fuzzy whenever i hear it.

And cloud cuckoo, immortal and wavy gravy were blaring through my ipod when i walked around Manhattan once. Having that music as all I heard while being surrounded by rushing traffic, people everywhere and tall buildings blocking out the sun was a little surreal. It felt like an honest to God movie moment.
