Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 10.2 Megapixel Digital Camera

4 people recommended this item

Description

The Lumix DMC-LX2 is a good camera your (spacious) pocket or your portable kit. It isn't perfect since it's rather noisy and has a harsh flash, but it has a Leica lens, can save files in RAW, and has easily manipulable manual settings usually associated only DSLRs. The 16:9 aspect ratio is unique to such small cameras and allows you to take photos that approximate the typical human field of vision or that are the dimensions of a widescreen movie or HD broadcast. The LCD is generous although a viewfinder would have been nice.

A.B. Sutton Luxurious Leather and Silk iPod and Moleskine Cases!

First to recommend

Description

Great quality iPod cases. I've owned several versions of these cases- including 3 completely custom cases- and have been so impressed with them all. The designs are simple and well made- I believe all cases are made by hand.

Here's why you can't go wrong and why you're gonna love it.

- The materials. Leather. It's supple, rich, and amazing quality, and the colors are rich and lustrous. The silk lining. The silks are to die for and allow you to truly make an iPod case your own. The matching threads.

- The people. Customer service is the best part of A.B. Sutton. Anna and Jack are kind, creative, accomodating, and sweet. Hands down the best people I have ever run across in the custom made ipod case business. Perhaps anywhere. They are willing to work with you to the point that they know what you want more than you do. They are nice and funny and very talented so we should all buy cases to keep good people like this in business.

I had my custom cases created to not allow the iPod to slip out of the case. To this day I have yet to find another case that protects my iPod like my A.B. Sutton case. And it looks so darned good while doing it!

Cadillac CTS-V

Description

I do so love my car.

Living in Los Angeles, you need to have a comfortable car since you spend so much time on the road. Literally on the road, because with this traffic you don't move very much. The Cadillac CTS-V has all of the luxuries one could ever hope for in a car.

But the engine. Oh the engine. A 6.0 liter V8. 400 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. The same engine normally found in Corvettes. It's probably a very good thing that there's so much traffic in Los Angeles or else I'd have far too many opportunities to see exactly what this car can do and then I'm sure I'd get in trouble.

Oral-B 9450 Triumph Professional Care Power Toothbrush

2 people recommended this item

Description

This is the first electric toothbrush I purchased and I love it. It's not too heavy or bulky. I haven't played around with the various settings too much yet, but the basic settings make my teeth feel much cleaner than with a regular toothbrush.

According to Amazon: An easy-to-read digital display set into the handle of the brush lights tells you when the brushheads are ready for replacement or when the battery needs recharging. Additionally, the brush is programmed to time each brushing session for the dentist-recommended two minutes. Every 30 seconds the brush pulses, alerting the user to shift to a new quadrant of the mouth. And when the two minutes are up, the brush pulses and displays a friendly "happy face" on the handle's indicator.

It's all true.

It also holds a charge for quite a while, at least two weeks per charge. (via ESH)

Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro Earphones

First to recommend

Description

I love my super.fi 5 Pro™ earphones!

After doing a lot of research, I upgraded to these from my Shure e1 earphones. Did I make the best decision? Who knows. It's not like I have so much cash that I can afford to buy and test every pair of earphones and headphones out there. I like the appearance- it verges on slightly generic (mine are white), but its fairly unobtrusive and doesn't look like a growth coming out of my ear.

I have found that these isolate noise really well, which is great when you want to sink into the music or drown out your surroundings. There are four total audio drivers- two for the left and two for the right. According to super.fi, there is one on each side for high frequencies while the others handle low frequencies. I don't know how much of that my ears can distinguish, but I can tell that the sound quality is excellent. I hate how the loud the Etymotic cables are- this is just my personal preference- and the super.fi's cables are nice and quiet. They have reinforced wires that you can use to mold the cables around your ears if you want.

I do like the portable case that came with my Shure's better than the UE cases. I use the UE leather case on an everyday basis and it is fine, but it's essentially just a wee padded leather pouch with a velcro closure. I have to make sure to be careful when loading in the earphones so the wires don't get all tangled. The UE aluminum case is much more organized, but it's also quite a bit larger and more bulky.

The package comes with quite a bit:

- Earphones with 46" cable, cable adjustor and gold plated 1/8" input plug
- Leather storage case
- Metallic storage case
- 1/4" adaptor jack
- Sound Level Attenuator
- Cleaning Tool
- 6 single flange silicone (2 small, 2 medium, 2 large)
- 2 standard foam eartips
- User Guide/Warranty Card

Retails for $249.99. You can find it a bit cheaper at other web sites.

Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Mouse

Description

This is one bad-ass mouse. It does everything and is fully programmable. I particulalry like the SmartShift which can tell what sort of scrolling I should use (either incremental or free-spinning). Plus it is just very cool-looking. If Darth Vader had a mouse and lost some of his late 70's hard edges in favor of a more sleek look, this would be the mouse for him. I can't believe I went so long just using the trackpad on my powerbook! :-/ (via notcot)

Griffin Technology Reflect iPod Case

First to recommend

Description

I'm always looking for the perfect iPod case for my 5G iPod. I usually lean towards leather cases (Vaja, a.b. sutton, aneta genova, et cetera), but I've also been known to purchase silicone cases. This is my first hard case, and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's pretty darn cool and it protects the iPod well.

The package contains three pieces- one front piece and two back pieces (one for 30GB iPods and one for 60/80GB iPods). The front of the case is very cool and chromelike with only a cutout for the wheel. At first it seems like you can't see the screen at all, but when the iPod's backlight comes on, the screen glows through the chrome. The back of the case is rubberized so it's got a nice, grippy feel. The front and back snap together easily, but don't come apart easily.

There are cutouts on the top for the hold button and headphone jack, and a good portion of the bottom of the case is open so you can easily access the dock connector and use FM transmittors such as the iTrip.

This is still kinda hard to find online, but some of the Apple stores started getting it in. Retails for $24.99 at Griffin and $29.99 at Apple. Also comes in a version for the newer Nano.
