Northanger Abbey

Description

Get sucked into this take of a woman too wrapped up in romantic fiction she almost misses the real life romance unfolding in real life.

This is one of those movies that never leaves the DVD changer. I watch this whenever I am sick, or down, or in the mood for some Jane Austen.

Description

Oh yes, please. What is more romantic than a long lost (but never forgotten) love breezing back into your life and then fumblingly realizing you can still make a life together? Not much...well, if you are into that kind of thing, which I am.

Rupert Penry-Jones, Sally Hawkins, Alice Krige, Anthony Head, Julia Davis, Michael Fenton Stevens.

I mean - right? Clueless is totally bitchin'. No, really I just love this movie, honestly better than most other versions of Emma. Plus the soundtrack is amazing!

Emma (A&E, 1997)

Description

My favorite version of Emma (that is not Clueless).

My only criticism is that their attempt to film evening dinner scenes and party scenes in as close to candlelight as possible was a little over ambitious. Still, a great film.

Kate Beckinsale, Bernard Hepton, Mark Strong (II), Samantha Bond, James Hazeldine, Dominic Rowan.
