Reindeer Games - a list by hanahula

About this list:

Whether because of their close association with Santa Claus, striking profile or gentle disposition, reindeer are wonderful ambassadors of the holiday season and representative of the great outdoors all year long. Having had a close encounter with a five-point buck recently, I am now more entranced by deer, caribou, elk, and reindeer than I ever was as a child. Here are a few that you can actually invite inside.

Qualifications:

A sucker for the cute and the handsome.

Starbucks Store: Starbucks Stag Mug by Starbucks Coffee

First to recommend

Description

Clearly, Starbucks is as enamored with the stag profile as I am. If you happen to be lucky enough to find one in a Starbucks store near you, these gorgeous mugs can be purchased individually. Otherwise, you can order two or more from the Starbucks online store . . . add a bag of Kona coffee to create a last-minute coffee-lover's gift.

Art & Artifact: Pair of Silver Glitter Reindeer

First to recommend

Description

These dazzling deer are large enough to create a fantastical winter landscape, but still small enough to keep inside. And unlike a tree, they do not have a specific expiration date. I would let them graze throughout the winter months.

Description

A different spin on the reindeer silhouette, but no less stunning, this origami version is bright, white and porcelain.

Amazon: Olive, the Other Reindeer Book and Doll by Vivian Walsh and J.otto Seibold

First to recommend

Description

A dog, a deer, a female deer: Olive isn't quite sure which but she does know she likes to play. Along with the plush 8-inch version of herself, the story of Olive is a wonderful treat . . . and perhaps even a new tradition.

Chocosho: Women's Black Deer Brooch by Melissa Beal

First to recommend

Description

I don't know which I love more: the fact that this is a deer I can wear or that it is a three-dimensional work of handcrafting. Either way, I want one for winter . . . and I may just buy a herd.

Target: Bronze Reindeer Waterglobe

First to recommend

Description

Even if the weather outside is frightful (rain, sleet, snow or any combination thereof), snow globes enable you to enjoy an idealized version of winter. The simple, striking figure of a reindeer is the stuff my dreams are lately designed.
