This is an absolutely heartbreaking movie about loss and its aftermath. It was based on the book by Russell Banks (Rule of the Bone, Affliction) and directed by Atom Egoyan (Exotica. Ararat). Beautifully filmed with incredible performances, particularly by Sarah Polley and Ian Holm.

I really don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say that the Wire is quite possibly among humankind's greatest creative endeavors. It's gotta be the smartest television series ever, at the very least. Did I mention that I *LOVE* this show?

The Corporation (2-Disc Special Edition)

Description
Don't let the length of The Corporation scare you. It's organized into bite sized segments that brilliantly illustrate the ways in which corporations harm the environment, societies, and individuals. Even better, it explains how this state of affairs came to be. Best yet, it does this without oversimplifying an important reality behind corporations--that they are made up of people, and people are usually neither good nor evil, but complex. Another thing I liked was that after almost two hours of sheer horror came the positive notion that this too, like all other dominant social orders, shall pass. Here's hoping that the human race won't pass along with it.

Description
Up your hipster knowledge and laugh your booty off with the first season of Flight of The Conchords. I am a huge fan of this show and it provides ample conversation starters for work parties, first dates, or other possibly awkward situations. It will provide you with hours of good quality entertainment, and prepare you for their next season. Love them.
