The Little Flower King by Kveta Pacovska
First to recommend
Description
Květa Pacovska was born in Prague, in 1928 and has illustrated more than sixty books and won the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1992.
With imaginative illustrations made from collaged paper scraps, paint and pencil drawings, this book has a real folk art feel to it although the illustrator is said to be influenced by modern artists like Paul Klee, Kandinsky and Míro.
I'm sure you'll be surprised by her illustrations of Hänsel et Gretel or Little Red Riding Hood! (via book by its cover)

Description
Wonderful book of evolving, sequential illustrations involving a see-saw, some animals and what happens when you keep stacking those animals on that see-saw.
AS it is an accordion foldered boo, you can see all the evolution as a little cartoon, following that investigation about serial perception that Mari was realizing in 60’s
